Based on what I read during the release of ROTS, Grievous had his training "programmed" into his brain .

I'm trying to find it but I can't so I think that it must not be canon anymore ...

While I agree with you in principle, a children’s TV show shouldn’t be able to dictate the continuity of a multibillion dollar movie franchise, it doesn’t change the fact that it does. TCW IS canon. All the ridiculousness of that series IS official lore. There’s no debate about that. The precedence has been set whether you recognize it or not.

“. . . . some hack . . . “ TCW wasn’t a property that Lucas tossed at some random animation team and then washed his hands. He was directly involved with Filoni in its production. No matter how stupid, everything in that show ultimately had George’s seal of approval.

Yes, but prior to this explanation coming from EU, Lucas had this to say:

    A New Hope Mess-up?
In Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, Han Solo boasted about the speed of his spaceship by claiming it made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs, despite a parsec being a unit of distance. (In the novelization, he said, "less than twelve standard timeparts."[3]) Screenwriter George Lucas claimed the seeming gaffe in the film was intentional, showing that Han was something of a bull artist who didn't always know precisely what he was talking about. - http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Parsec/Legends

Well, I completely agree with that guy's assessment that trying to utilize a weightless blade without any experience doing so will be very difficult. However, this is situation dependent. Dueling someone would be nearly impossibly difficult. Simply trying to avoid butchering yourself, far easier.

I also disagree with the assertion that lightsaber blades have weight to them because there is a center of mass when Darth Vader threw his lightsaber... or any depiction of the saber in the movies. If they are intended to be weightless, but limited by technology, it should be accepted that they are weightless.

It's been canon for a long time now, and the movies after ANH and ESB were made around the idea that those blades are weightless. George Lucas himself has commented that those blades are weightless.

As to why Finn can wield a lightsaber, Alex, I'm gonna go with "Because it was in the script" for $500.

Everyone of us can wield a lightsabre, the question is whether we can wield it well enough.

Nah, nah, nah. That's Rey's job. Finn is the one driving the plot bus with a tow cable hooked up to Rey to drag her along.

Lol There's a video I saw earlier about some parody of Finn's life on The SKB where he's complaining about his sh##ty life as a janitor after all of his training and everything ... The simplest answer to all of this is that he's simply just extremely well-trained in combat battle scenarios and literally anyone can activate a LIGHTSABER without killing hem selves (unless you're jar jar binke) .

He could wield a lightsaber because there was an other guy with a lightsaber who tried to kill him. The only way to defend himself was to pick it up and use it. If someone attacked me with a sword, and I had a sword I would try to defend myself with it. If the other is good I would probably get my ass kicked like Finn...
