THREAD FOR THOSE WHO HATED THE MOVIE

I was doing some research into illegal downloads and it seems not many wanted to download it on the dodge.

Either that is a win for the mouse's anti piracy team or no not many actually wanted it download the movie. If it is the latter, that to me is a big indicator of the longevity of the film.

I still can't believe that there are fans who are okay with the film. The more you think about it, the more ridiculous it gets. Such atrocious writing just cannot be defended.

 

To be fair, you don't need to download it to watch it - i.e. you can stream it on a 'dodge' film site so I'm not sure how you would ever be able to measure that.

What if the foreshadowing and the see you around kid as to do with what he said to Jhonson?

Like "I told you kid. What you've done to Luke, will hunt you forever"

I don't know if that's the case... but it's... fun to even guess that.

No matter what we think about the boycott or Solo BO, sure some have taken Luke's finale words on screen literally.
The rebellion was born the day he died and broom boys all over the world (that hate the borrom boy) are willing to revenge Luke.

if you hate film.. then slag it off till you're blue in the face. don't slag me off and a huge amount of members that you share a forum with just because we did enjoy the movie.

These 'other members' have no problem by calling people trolls or mocking different opinions, at least, here, it is at the right place on the forum.

Just take a look at the start of this thread and how offensive some people are ...

Nobody ever asked you to change your mind but you can like it as much as you want, this movie will meet his fate in history as a total let down.

 

i couldn't care less about the movie at this point. I do care about the way members are treating each other here.

it's ok to post personal spiteful comments about members who liked the movie because it's been done to them? in my opinion it is not.

there is no 'right place' on the forum for personal disrespectful posts.

I don't care what the thread title is, what the staff/mods think of what's acceptable in this thread or what someone thinks of a bloody movie.. personal posts are not ok and i will fight them when i see them.

I said many times that we used to be waaaaay more polite and respectful in this cantina before this movie went out. Once again, just read the start of this thread, the people who are going mad are not the one you think they are.

But it was 5 months ago, so I get used to it.

 

No, we're not tired of SW. If Disney truly believes this, they are fools and there is no hope for Ep. IX. How come Marvel isn't have this "fatigue" problem then? Black Panther and Infinity War came out within a little over two months of each other and easily made over a billion worldwide and had positive audience feedback. I've seen a lot of the Marvel movies, and some are better than others, but I know that I've never walked out of a Marvel movie feeling the utter disappointment and sort of insulted the way I did TLJ. Just make good movies and respect your characters and story history. Marvel has figured this out, why can't Lucas film?

TLJ was fresh and bold? LOL! For what, things like flying Leia and milking alien boobs? It sure wasn't for the dismal story and blatant copying of ESB and ROTJ. The elevator scene was a copy of the Luke/Vader scene from ROTJ. Right down to some of the dialogue. Ditto on the throne room scene with Snoke. The similarities between that and the Palpatine/Vader/Luke scene was striking. Oh, and then Emo Ren's offer to Rey to "Rule the galaxy together." Gee, where have we heard that before??

You are right on. I've never had to defend myself so much for disliking this movie than in this thread … for those of us who hate it. 98% of the TLJ lovers don't come in here for peaceful discussion or a different perspective, they come in to troll, mock and name call. Then they play victim and act like we are all so unfair and mean.

 

And this is weird because it is what this whole movie is for me.

Mocking, bullying, being rude, respectless, slapped and laughed.

There is not one single character who isn't mocked, slapped during 2h30.

Poe disrespects Leia
Snoke mocks Kylo Ren
Leia slaps Poe
Luke is rude to Rey
Chewie eats a porg
Rose shoots Finn
Finn is publicly naked
Rey is hurt by her lightsaber
Hux is a doorbat
And the list is still on ...

How would I love that ?

 

We have been here a long time @Bandini. how polite and respectful the Cantina is.. is up to us all.

i have posted on this thread many times, and i have made it very clear that i make no judgement against anyone for their opinion of a movie.

then tackle them.. face up to them. give me a shout and i'll bloody do it... i don't care if it's someone who loved TLJ like me.

this can't continue to turn into an 'us' and 'them' thing here. surely nobody wants that? I won't ever accept being put into a group like that here.. i think it's awful.

 

That's why it is good we can discuss Solo ...

At least, it pleased the really vast majority of us.

 

you are right my friend.. but i wish it wasn't the case that we can only discuss Solo sensibly because the broad opinion seems to be that it's a decent/good movie.

even then, there are hurtful posts from people saying 'notice how everyone who liked TLJ is in denial that Solo was a total flop' and 'notice how the TLJ haters all want Solo to fail'.

judge the posts.. reply to the posts.. give your own opinion. it's a simple system that's been in place since the dawn of forums.. replying to the poster or judging the poster is a path to the dark side.

Am sure most of us on here never wanted to dislike TLJ. I wanted to love it. I wanted RJ to hit it out of the park. But I can't fake love. I can't say I love it because its branded a Star Wars movie. That is why I don't believe the franchise as been described as lethargic. I just don't like Rian's film and his decisions. As for the Solo movie I can't say whether I want to watch it. I just see it as a peculiar choice of film. Will I watch it? Yes eventually but I won't be biased against it due to TLJ.

 

I'm sorry, isn't this the thread for those who hated the movie? Don't go in here if you're afraid to get your feelings hurt. I never visit positive threads about the movie.

Sounds like censorship to me. People still hate on PT here regularly. If people want to discuss it here, they have the right. Just no trolling in opposite threads.

 

As long as people are still writing on the prequels 15 years after, I'm not sure this will happen

The movie just came out on home video 2 months ago, and is coming out on Netflix next month.

The hate is young and the hate is early yet.

 

I saw something a while back, I can't remember where, but the quote was "TFA was a love letter to the fans, TLJ was a middle finger to fans." That sums it up perfectly for me!

Oh, I have faced them over and over. The discussion normally ends up going in a pointless circle, unfortunately. I've said a million times that I don't care if someone liked TLJ, good for them! Just don't come in here and stir the pot and rudely act like someone isn't allowed to see things the way you do. A while back, someone who was so happy that their personal preference of events happened the way that they wanted to in TLJ was in here mocking and being condescending. I pointed out to them that TLJ was only the second movie and things could change drastically by the end of the third movie. That person then jumped down my throat and accused me of being butt hurt and having head cannon. This was coming from some whose head cannon was fulfilled (sort of) in TLJ. That's what I mean by conversations going in a pointless circle!
