Vader's Pursuit of the Tantive IV

I don't agree with that.
I've just seen the movie once (yes you can blame me ).
What I precisely remember from what I've seen is the following : in the Yavin's base, Bail is speaking with Mon Mothma about Obiwan. They both decide to request his help. Bail says "I have the right person for that", and immediatly after, he leaves Mon and calls for Captain Antilles.
According to that, you (techsteveo) state: "Bail is saying to Captain Antilles that he has a mission for him".
I don't agree what I thought on the moment, what I said to my daughter in the theater, and what I still think monthes after: Bail is actually thinking to Leia when he says he has "the right person". She is the right person, for at least two reasons: first, because she's a diplomatic and she's accustomed to negociation... but more important, second: because Bail knows that Obiwan knows who is actually Leia. This is why she is the right person, above any other one! What I understood on the moment (and I still believe in) is that Bail asks Capt Antilles to prepare the ship (Tantive) as Bail needs to go back to Alderaan, to prepare Leia's mission.

 

In my opinion the scene in tantive IV is chronologically wrong, in new hope the first to enter the tantive were the stormtroopers, already in Rogue One vader was to choke and cut the slices the rebels

 

It's not. Don't forget that Tantive IV gets separated from the Profundity after it leaves Scarif and that Vader and his crew enter the ship from the Devastator, a completely separate vessel.

 

Also Bail saying "I'd trust her with my life" makes quite clear he is talking about Leia.

 

Speaking of Vader's Pursuit:

 

Watch the movie more than once man. He clearly states that he has a mission for Capt. Antilles. That doesn't mean it's not the same mission as Leias. Also, Pablo Hidalgo pretty much confirmed that Leia was on Yavin 4 but off camera during that meeting. That's why the droids are there as well. Leia was on the ship with Antilles. They went to join Admiral Rattus after he decided to fight. This to me is a bit of a plot hole. I guess Bail could have taken a different ship or was dropped off prior to Antilles and Leia joining the fight.

We all know he's talking about Leia. Why is this even up for debate? it doesn't change that he does speak to Antilles after he says "I'd trust her with my life".

And I believe this mission for Antilles was to go to look for Leia - and not to go to Tattooine to meet Kenobi.

Maybe it was "Captain Antilles, get your ship ready for the Princess, she'll leave soon on a mission I need her to take".

 

According to Pablo, Leia and the droids were ALL on Yavin 4. Leia was not in the meeting but off camera. Probably on the ship. The mission was to take Leia to Tatooine and pick up Old Ben.

 

Something we already knew.

I guess the thing most of the people was discussing as a potential plot hole was the fact that the Tantive IV was docked on the Profundity and by the time we see Threepio and Artoo in the Yavin 4 hangar Raddus was supposedly gone to Scarif. However, maybe he was still orbiting Yavin and then the Tantive IV docked on his ship.

 

WOW....Is incredible how many friends have GREAT theory about this topic.ALL of them are GOOD....

 

I like to think that the Profundity arrived before the Tantive IV but was so badly damaged/ the death star plans were so large - that a docking was necessary to transfer the files and get them out of the system as fast as possible. So Leia came into orbit around scarif - docked with the damaged ship during the battle - then the scene we saw at the end happens.

there was a Ton going on during that battle, not all of it was shown on screen as the focus was definitely on the progress of the classified data

 

Exactly! All I know is that I wish they included later on the Battle of Scarif from the Ghost crew point of view.

 

That would have been sweet... seeing the crew of the Ghost in live action form. - The whole time rebels has been the air on I've been curious as to how they would potentially portray Zeb on the big screen. It would probably have given too much away for the show though - Mainly who lives and who dies
