Not sure what you mean. Rey is Lucas' idea. That was the character Michael Arndt was working on before JJ came on board. How much they used of Lucas' full plan is unclear. The were rumors that she was younger in Lucas's plan. We probably won't learn the full story until the making of book comes out.

You can only be a good pilot, live in a desert, weld the force, or pilot the MF if you're related to a Skywalker? Some people really have a limited imagination.

 

Other than the saga being based on the sky walker family I don't think thats true.

Han, Luke, Leia, and Kylo Ren are in the Skywalker family. So yeah.

I think George wanted Rey to be a daughter of the Solos.

 

But you said Rey is Lucas's idea and thats not true.

There is a parallel with Jason and Jaina Solo, but George didn't write that?

Also kylo/revan is not Georges idea, he is jj Abrams and casdans.
The sage is a Skywalker saga yes, so if your suggesting every one ever to feature in the saga's really is Georges idea, as an extension of the fact that he created Luke, Leia and Anakin, I think I still have to disagree with you there.

 

But I've just shown you George telling you that all his idea's where rejected. Why would some one else no better than the man in question?

George says they went in a different direction. They didn't take his entire story, but they took elements from that story. As mentioned above... Pablo Hidalgo says Rey came from George. When the Making Of book we'll learn what Lucas elements survived. My guess is they've delayed the book b/c they don't want to spoil elements of the future films.

 

YEs, there was a discussion about this the other day with( I don't remember ) on a youtube channel and saying that the delay may be because they didn't want to possibly divulge things in the book that could give away information about eps. 8 and 9. I wouldn't be surprised if they have footage which they would use in the next movie and don't want to spoil it.

Also, JJ Abrams having any involvement with reshoots, marketing, the trailers, or really anything more than showing up at the premiere.

 

Here are my two worst things they could do:

#1 - Forget what makes Star Wars, Star Wars. Star Wars is a Greek mythology / fairy tale mixed with a number of influences. That is what makes it speak deeply to us and gives it a timeless quality. I hope they don't just go with a fairly interesting story that you could see in any other Hollywood movie set in any time period in any location. That would be the absolute worst thing they could do, in my opinion.

#2 - Awkwardly force in a gay romance where it doesn't fit, just for the sake of being politically correct. If it feels natural and works within the story line, I am fine with homosexual characters, but I don't want it to be shoehorned in there just for the sake of saying "look how diverse we are!"

 

My biggest worry is that Snoke is nothing more than a run-of-the-mill villain, hence Episodes VIII-IX are just a boring epilogue to a story that's already reached its climax.

And, on the way the storygroup are going,,, Ahsoka, Ezra, Kanan's meeting with the Bendu - the way the story group are going is that they consider the force many shades of grey, not just black and white. It was Lucas who made the prequel Jedi arrogant and without foresight.

 

I want to see Luke leave AhchTo and have something to do outside AhchTo.

I could get behind that as well. It was bad enough for me that Luke and Han never got to say an final goodbye to eatch other, but if Leia dies without final goodbye to Luke it would be to much I think.. If anything I hope she dies in his arms or something like that.

the worse thing that could happen in ep8 is for Luke and Leia to not have quality screen time together.

I would have loved to have seen the entire OT band together on screen.. just once, but that cannot happen now obviously.
It worries me that Leia sent Rey to Ach-To and didn't go herself. They kinda left the door open to brother/sister never seeing each other again. #worried

in all honesty though, i'll be as happy as a pig in sh** once i see this next december..

 

I too want to see Luke and Leia together on screen, but it would have been weird if she went to Ach-To right at the moment the resistance needed her most. She has always put duty before herself.

 

Seeing snoke in person as cgi. it would ruin the film for a lot of people in my opinion. yoda fighting the emperor was fun, but seeing yoda as cgi in a fight scene was probably not the best idea. i can only imagine that the best possible option is to opt for a real actor posing as snoke with cgi used for snoke's scars.
