SPECULATION What "twists" do we expect?

i think Phasma may potentially find herself cut off or deliberately separated from the FO, but i don't think she'll defect for moral reasons.

 

Porgs are mitacloreans enlarged by a rich diet of Ach-to kelp. They will serve as Luke's army; the Porgherim.

There are no gray jedi. There is no balance between light and dark. That's not how Lucas described the balance. The dark side hurts the balance Jedi seek to see the balance restored. The balance of the force is like an ecosystem destroy the environment with consumption and it goes out of balance and things die. Sustainable action preserves the balance. The balance is like an economy which can be destroyed by greed and corruption but preserved with fairness and opportunity.

 

I agree. I could only see that if we had more to go on and more about her character in TFA to be able to gauge what she'd be like at all. Honestly, I know nothing about her.

 

i think we're drawing inferences from what we know about her in the novel that just came out (and likewise echoed in the comic book, i think).

 

Ya I really want to read the book Phasma because I want to know her back story, but does anyone know if it’s about phasma’s past? Or is it about her doing stuff in the first order?

 

I think the twist or secret, or something has to do with Luke and Kylo.

 

Here are some twists i more or less expect, from more likely to less likely :
_ Kylo Ren will execute (a wounded) Snoke
_ Luke used to have a wife and children
_ Rey's origins are tied to the dark side
_ Luke killed Rey's parents
_ We already know Snoke : he appeared in TCW (see spoiler)
_ Luke already turned to the darkside
_ Finn is FS (more likely to be revealed in IX)
_ Phasma is a spy for a third party (or a dissident faction within the FO)

Some elements on that lists are mutually exclusive (and the Snoke one might be a joke).

 

I think / hope that of there's a twist it's not about Rey, Kylo, Snoke or Luke. Because... That won't be a twist. Really.
If there's something huge than it has to be something we are not thinking, talking, speculating about it.

 

I think it would be more of a twist if something like this happens:

1. Poe turns against the rebellion and joins FO

2. Han actually didn’t die

3. Boba Fett returns

4. Porgs take over the galaxy

5. The caretakers are really working for the FO and eats Luke, Rey, and Chewie and use R2 for a toaster

 

Agreed...I always found it strange when Kylo said that Luke's old lightsaber belonged to him when confronting Rey and Finn. I think there are a couple of things that Kylo does in TFA that we overlook like suddenly leaving BB-8 behind because Rey had what he needed? He might already know where Luke is and didn't want anyone else finding out? I don't know but Kylo is a very interesting character to me and I can't wait to see what happens in TLJ with him.

Possible SPOILERS gang.... ....

1) Snoke will abduct & murder Leia from Canto Blight then draw out her life force. That's how he is replenish his face-body. Also, he may be a old spirit that was restored by accident by either Luke or maybe Ben Solo.
2) Laura dern's adm character has it in for Leia & used her being Anakin Skywalkers daughter/ to bring her down in political circles.
3) when Luke says; "it time for the Jedi, ... To end ... He means the corrupted version the Jedi Council & Jedi Masters were using. Either Snoke or Darth Plaguis set up a long term plan to flush out the Skywalkers then destroy them. Luke is hidden or exile because he can't face Snoke yet.
4) Poe Dameron will get waxed in the climax. Maybe Rose too. Saving Finn.
5) Rey might turn bad then lash out at Luke or Kylo Ren might start to feel betrayed by Snoke then feel he is the true leader. He will then don a full Darth Vader outfit. The crowds will freak!

Things I would consider a big twist...

1. Luke was married and has a child who is among the new characters (other than Rey)
2. Luke gets possessed by Snoke at the end of Episode 8.
3. Poe leaves the resistance disillusioned and takes up smuggling.
4. Rey is the eremite (from the Aftermath novels)
5. Snoke is the first chosen one of many through the centuries.
6. Kylo seems to be turning good but does a turn around and becomes super-evil.
7. Rose Tico and her sister are actually spies for some third faction in the Unknown Regions (like the Chiss)
8. Phasma fakes her death in episode 8, and continues her adventures as a bounty hunter in novels and comics, never revealing her face.

 

Snoke and Leia won't meet.

 

Ya it won’t but I guess that’s good I mean if she did meet Snoke he probably would have tortured her very badly then would kill her in front of Kylo
