    Personally I think this pretty great. If something along these lines were too happen I wouldn't be too disappointed.

    Its a case of distinguishing between Jedi, Sith and Force user. Using the force is just down to ability. Jedi and Sith are force users who have decided to follow a certain ideal/religion.

    I think the ST is going to further demonstrate this. They already have, Rey isn't a Jedi (yet) and snoke isnt Sith. The whole philosophy of the ST is about moral ambiguity. The terms light and dark side are going to become less and less relevant, IMO.

    Maybe some of the above, but as I stated in another thread, I think that we're going to find that there's more to Maz Kanata than initially meets the eye.

    Remember, she's MORE than 1000 years old and has witnessed A LOT of history...she probably even knew Yoda. I expect that she knows damned good and well who that lightsaber belongs to, saw through the Force that Luke was still alive, and also knew that someone would take it, and when she saw Rey she knew she was the one to have it, because Maz....used to be a Jedi.

    Think about THAT for a little while before just dismissing it out-of-hand. :)

    Would YOU be surprised?? :)

    The voting results sadly sums up what most SW fans want or expect in this film:
    1st place: Mayor betrayal (ala Lando-style in ESB)
    2nd place: Parentage reveal (ala Luke-style in ESB)
    3rd place: Good character death (ala Han-style in ESB)

    Fans want remakes. Why?

    Because the first one didn't suit their taste and if they don't like it they want a different one of their choosing. My response has always been "Go make your own movie, then." :)

    Because fans want to see something that would bring back the emotions they had while watching a film from a franchise for the very first time. Most of the people are conservative and they don't really want changes. That's why we stick to brands. If they want things to alter then in such a way that they stay more or less the same. At least that's how I see it.

    Yes, I understand that too. But I thought people learned their lesson after TFA. Even the people who absolutely love TFA will agree that it was "basically a reimagination of the OT, specifically ANH".

    I guess it goes along with the old saying "some people just never learn".
