    I'm really struggling to figure out what I think about this movie.
    There are parts of the movie that I absolutely love... but there are other bits which fall short of my expectations.

    I too am have muddled feelings. I shall keep digesting the ride and see how things sit with time.

    The look, feel, opening crawl, FX, Driver were great but the story seemed simple, safe, lacking something. With so many unanswered questions - I wonder if Episode 8 continues seamlessly or if there's more elapsed time/questions...

    This. Some events in the movie felt too easy, others too contrived. These things have the potential to be explained in the next two films, which if done well bumps my rating from 7 to 9, yet if not touched on or explained poorly could dock a point or two.

    I guess 4th would be ok for me, to me if it's better than the PT combined it's ok, it would he very hard if not impossible for any of the ST movies to outright beat the OT just because of how original it is. Just my two cents, I'll rank it as I said tomorrow night.

    It's sitting right at number 1 for me. I've had some time to digest it (I thought my initial reaction might just be fueled by hype), but seriously IMO it's the best STAR WARS film ever made. It's tight story-wise, great pacing, and I felt honestly invested in the characters. ESB had always held 1st place for me, so this isn't just a throwaway line when I say that TFA is better.

    If you have some misgivings about the film on the first viewing, the second time around will help smooth things over. It absolutely did for me.

    Yeah, I'm probably going to see it another time or two to get everything, it seems like it may be hard to understand everything that's going on in the first viewing.

    At least fourth. I need to see the movie a few more times before I will decide on a final ranking. However, it is better than any of the prequels and it is just a lot of fun. Enjoy the movie.

    1. Episode 4: A New Hope ( It's the one that got me hooked )
    2. Episode 5: The Empire Strike Back ( Best movie of all Time )
    3. Episode 6: Return of the Jedi ( My fav movie as a youngster )
    4. Episode 7: The Force Awakens ( It awakened my interest in these movies again ) pardon the pun. = P
    5. Episode 6: Revenge of the Sith ( The best of the prequels. I really liked this film )
    6. Episode 1 : The Phantom Menace ( I didn't love this one. ( as much as the others ) )
    7. Episode 2: Attack of the Clones ( My least fav Star Wars film. Although there are parts of this film I really liked )

    In closing: I'm a huge Star Wars " Nerd " and I love all the STAR Wars movies ( The Good & The not so Good ones ) for better or worse, I'm now really looking forward to Rogue 1 and Episode 8.

    new hope had it all
    Empire had the perfect twist of a movie
    force awakens had the intriquge and the promise.. and it gave on multiple other fronts.
    revenge had a harsh tone and a solid love of a story to be told years later (20 years in the past)
    jedi - true choice of one or the other, ewoks or religion..
    clone wars - cheesy lines, cool action
    phantom - well.. well.. yeah .. imagine if liam neeson had the same convo he had in taken with.. plapatine..

    anyway..

    The saga in of itself is amazing.. love it.

    theres no way it would have been possible to rank it any higher than 4th.. i love those original movies too much.

    its an incredibly close though.. in fact id give it a joint 3rd with ROTJ.. just give it 30 years to grow on me enough.

    After seeing it last night, it probably stands at 3rd place for me at the moment. It is so hard to compare TFA with the OT because the OT have so many memories tied up with them. I'm going to watch the OT again over the weekend which will probably help me make a better judgement on where I stand.

    At least no one has ranked it 5th or less, that's a good sign, probably the reason why a plurality here say it's 4th is because it's VERY hard for a new Star Wars movie to top any of the OT movies I'm guessing

    Most people have watched TFA once or maybe twice. They have watched the OT tens or even hundreds of times. They might be cautious in their appraisal. While it is safe to say that TFA is definitely not bad, it has not yet stand the test of time.
