    We have seen some footage now. When all is said and done where will people rank Episode 7 among their favorite and least favorite. Super early speculative poll.

    I think the best expectations to walk into is it won't be as good as ANH & ESB, but will be better then ROTJ & THE PT.

    Got to agree. Considering J.J. Abrams film pedigree it will be pretty good but not necessarily an instant classic. But to be fair Star Wars fans may overrate the first two a bit. I voted second best after ESTB but I think the safe range would be ranking between 2-5.

    I agree as the new characters will be the key to how great this trilogy can be. ESB had the luxury of having the characters developed in ANH and not having to worry about tying up any plot points like ROTJ, so I would think Episode 8 has the best chance of equaling ESB if TFA is great.

    Within the limitations of what we've seen so far, I think it will at least be an equal to ANH and TESB.

    But there's another part of me that cautiously thinks and hopes that TFA just might be the finest SW film ever made.

    I think we all have to see it, to judge it and some years must gone by after the premiere, but voted 2 - one of the best but nothing beats the classics
    Normally I don't like give a advancement, but the teaser looked promising and I'am glad to see the OT cast one more time.
    I think it will have the quality of RotJ, ANH and ESB are masterpieces and unmatched in my opinion.
    But sometimes I like to get disabused. ;)
    My advice: hold the expectations low to be positive surprised in late december.

    How can we answer this without watching it. As amazing as it looks, the story and script is key. It could look great but have a ridiculous plot. It's premature to say where it will rank. It could be the best it could be the worst or it could be just meh.

    I'll get back to you after I watch the movie. I'm simply not ready to place expectations of how good the movie will be. That can ruin the experience.

    Just back from my second viewing, saw it in 3D this time.

    Enjoyed the 3rd act more this time around. Glad I went again and saw it.

    Completely got Luke's expressions this time around, complete realisation that he is being brought back into it, fear or anxiety about what is to come.

    Still don't think Rey is his daughter though, but I would like her to be.

    Still the 4th in the series, for me, but a great film.

    My current ranking after seeing it once is 3rd, after ANH and TESB.
    For the general public, I think once the hype dies down, it will be 4th, after TESB, ANH and ROTJ.

    Although I wonder if that will change after Episodes VIII and IX. I think for a lot of people, we see the OT as one thing. The way we view the characters and story of ANH is influenced by what we know happened in TESB and ROTJ. I don't doubt that my interest and attachment to Rey, Finn, Poe, BB-8... that will all be different by the time Episode IX rolls around.

    In short, it's hard to say now how exactly TFA will be remembered. But it's definitely going to be more fondly regarded than the prequels.

    I put it over Jedi, easily, didn't have the same experience and fun with ROTJ as i did with TFA
