I remember being stunned at Leia and the entire bridge getting sucked into space. Then... Well, we know what happens then. What should have happened is, that event is what causes Luke to nut up and go John Wick on the FO. I agree with Luke's sacrificial ending at the end, but this should have ended Leia's arc while allowing a last moment for Luke to shine, prior to taking over the ghost mentor mantle formerly occupied by Yoda. Very flat and unsatisfying.

It should have given more of a cue that they met up again. Showing her suddenly in the gunner seat on the Falcon was a little too out of place.

Guess that it was a pacing thing why such scene wasn't included as it would have slowed things down but it was still a bit out the blue.

Worst: Luke throwing out the lightsaber behind is back, it made me cringe more than anything else. Didn't like floating Leia and the milk scene either.

Best: Admiral Holdo jumping to light speed, and Luke vs Kylo, both absolutely perfect, but there are a lot more scenes I liked, Poe in his x-wing, the kid in the end of the movie, Luke and Yoda side by side, Rey and Kylo back to back fighting... I could keep going on, I loved the movie, with the exception of those few scenes.

Most of the people hated it. The sequences of Luke milking that alien and fishing. I loved it. He is in pure contact with the nature and made me think of Yoda cooking that horrrible soup with all those snakes in his house.

Best Scene: Surprisingly a tie for me:

Leia using the Force to get back to the ship
Holdo saving the remainder of the fleet - that scene was beautiful/heart breaking

Worst Scene: Phasma's defeat by Finn, what a complete let down
Rey being Rag Dolled by Snoke and hit in the head with LS

I suppose it was Luke who milked the Banthas back in the day.

Artoo showing the old hologram to Luke was my favorite scene.

    Worst: super woman Leia

I don't know where to start with that. First, living in space is kind of silly. Second, it took a scene that I had a very powerful emotional reaction to and then completely invalidated it. I almost felt cheated. Third, I guess the new cannon is that having extreme Jedi-like powers no longer requires training. You can just be born force sensitive (or have a very high midiclorian count for you PT enthusiasts (dual)) and that's all you need to be able to be an expert force user. Clearly that's the path the PT is going because Rey is now a Jedi (according to Luke) and he trained her for about 5 minutes.

Hard to pick the best, so many were great for so many different reasons.

I'm confused. As you mentioned, even in the prequel trilogy we saw that people can use the force without religious indoctrination. Anakin won pod races and destroyed the trade federation blockade without training. You might hate the prequels but how is this new cannon?

I definitely was amazed with Leia's death there because I was sure she was. Noone survives this, jedi or not and then they came with this, I was speechlessly embarrassed.

That was a terrible idea. Leia is here for just nothing during the whole movie like a plant in a room.

Also knowing Carrie passed also made me feel like this was a huge wasted opportunity to give Carrie/Leia an appropriate send off. THEY FILMED LEIA'S DEATH!! A few more reshoots and you let Leia stay dead and let Holdo do what Leia did the rest of the movie. Done crappy scene fixed and Carries untimely death handled in a way everyone can be satisfied with (on screen, nonCGI).

There would only be two loose ends. Need someone other than Holdo to drive to ship into the destroyer (easy, pick random pilot who wants to go down in glory... also it made no sense that someone as high ranking as Holdo would go on that suicide mission... I also liked Holdos character) and we'd never get the Luke-Leia reunion... oh wait we never did because that was Holo-Luke.

People who do not have amazing force powers can survive a short time in space. Based on how things were edited there's no way to know how long she was out there.

Oh yeah "speechlessly embarrassed" is a great way to put it! How does something like that survive editing???

I actually liked the movie. That scene was just SO bad it's coloring my entire opinion of the whole.

WORST: BB-8 controlling the AT-ST. And shooting coins. Isn't this why people complained about R2-D2 in the prequels?

BEST: Snoke chopped in two. What a twist!

Holdo's death made sense to me. It felt like the sacrifice a leader would make. But I agree it is unfortunate that they killed her off knowing now that Leia can't be in Episode IX.

We're in space not on a highway, the ship speed is just too high, you don't hold your breath while incouscious, it's just impossible, jedi, sith or whoever does this.

She would have to make miles through the space void.

Being force sensitive causing you to have heightened senses is a far far distance from being superman. My position is that being force sensitive is like being a genius. If Einstein never went to school he'd still be able to do normal things better than most people. But without an education (training) he never would have come up with the theory of general relativity.

I'm saying LEIA'S space survival is akin to coming up with the theory of relativity without ever opening a physics or math textbook.

That's what is beautiful about becoming a Jedi. It's not just enough to have talent (force sensitive) you also need the discipline and dedication to learn how to use and harness it to reach your potential.

    Oh yeah. Loved that too.

    I can add also:
    - The apparition of Yoda;
    - R2 showing Luke the old hologram of Leia;
    - Holdo sacrifice (by the way, I love this character.
    - The "dark" Luke in the flash back.

That was to Ackbar to do that. Holdo is coming, she dies, we don't know anything about her like Phasma, Snoke ... We don't know anything about them and they die, you just ... don't care. And they bring more unknown people who disappear like that instead of developing the main characters ...

And Ackbar died off screen ? The rebellion hero ? What ? That was his move to get down the Supremacy not a random general dressed like she was going to dance and not fighting a war.

Holdos death was fine I agree. I just suggested it could be swapped to allow Leia to die in space to account for Carrie's passing without having to make any significant changes to the rest of the plot/ movie.
