I actually really enjoy Attack of the Clones. It's flawed but it's also the only prequel that's any fun.

I've learned to appreciate AOTC more over time, but it's my least favorite simply because it's the one movie that I feel like could almost be completely eliminated from the saga without affecting the flow of the story.

    Not really.

Creation of the Clone army, first battle of the Clone Wars.
    Anakin and Padme marriage.

    Palpatine rise in power ect..

I would say AOTC is very important for the story.

Attack of the Clones is definitely the worst. Not just quality-wise but for what it meant.

TPM was pretty terrible but many still had hoped that it was just an accident and that GL and the team would get it together for the sequel. So then AOTC came out and it was even worse.

-no clear protagonist to connect to or real goal for the heroes
    -more insufferable space politics
    -even more awkward romance
    -"It's awl Obi-Wan's fawlt!!"
-a bunch of dumb kids with mini lightsabers
-brain-numbing cgi battle sequences with no tension
(oh no, disposable clones and disposable robots fighting about taxes... the suspense...)

Finally a dull lightsaber fight with a villain we barely know anything about (kind of like TPM!), featuring the infamous "ninja Yoda" *shudder*. The talent of Christopher Lee as an evil sorcerer was wasted in Clones, and was put to much better use in a way better film in 2002....

After this, audiences came to the dreaded realization that the whole trilogy was just going to suck. At least when ROTS came out it was finally over and people were put out of their misery. AOTC was right in the middle of a national nightmare. It was probably like when Lincoln was shot; Star Wars fans just lost their innocence.

It's not only the worst Star Wars movie, it's one of the worst things ever.

Anakin's transition to Darth Vader actually started in AOTC.
Primary when his mother died and he killed Sandpeople in the revenge.

Then you really need to watch more movies than just Star Wars.

Because AOTC is hardly the worst thing ever.

    Episode 5 is the worst,

    Vader should've been Luke's mother,

that would have been an even bigger twist.

I know that this is all subjective opinion, but (in keeping with the Big Lebowski theme), that aggression will not stand, man.

Christensen and Portman's chemistry was AWFUL - vastly different from Han and Leia. There was never any reason given for Padme to fall in love with Anakin, at all. I chose AOTC mainly because of how painful the 'romantic' scenes were. I don't much mind the rest of the story and even really like some of it: Obi-Wan's tension with Jango on Kamino (before their battle), the Geonosis scene, Anakin's slaughter of the sand people (though his outburst afterwards is really grating). There's a good bit to like, just not as much as the other 5.

Attack of the Clones is by far the most salvageable. It just requires a re-edit.
I think I posted this in another thread, but basically: the story is all there in the script, and everything you need to create a good movie is on film.
If I could re-edit it and had access to certain unseen scenes, I'd:

    - Cut parts of the 'packing scene' where Anakin whines ad nauseum.
    - Cut the scene where Anakin and Padme walk to the Queen's palace
    - Cut the 'sand scene'.
    - Cut the 'floating pears' scene.
    - Cut C-3PO's factory antics.

    Then:
    - Add Anakin's nightmare on the refugee ship.
    - Add Jocasta Nu explaining Count Dooku (you know, so the audience knows who the villain is).
    - Add the scene where Padme and C-3PO talk on Tatooine (shooting script version).

A few other changes I can't think of right now, and I think you've got a substantially better movie. The villain's motivations are at least explained, the corny 'romance' that stops the entire plot dead is excised, and we actually get to see Padme explain why she does a 180 from seeing Anakin as a child to marrying the idiot.

Like you said... it is all subjective.

Leia also had no reason to fall in love with Han. He is the total opposite of her. He was a criminal ( he did some aweful things in the past ), she was a princess. Also I do not really like the fact that Leia was all of sudden in love with Han in TESB.
I find that they had gone with the easy route and just skiped the whole ''fall in love'' part of Han and Leia.

Also I see chemistry between Christensen and Portman. I just find them all ( Leia and Han, Padme and Anakin) pretty much the same.

ROTS simply because it could have been the best SW movie but Lucas dropped the ball with Anakin's turn, the boring dual on Mustafar and Padme losing the will to live.

Han and Leia had two movies (and more time together) to cement their relationship, so it was not out of the blue. Take a look at their interactions on Hoth and when Leia hurts her hand in ESB - that's believable chemistry. There are no comparable moments between Anakin and Padme.

Also, Han and Leia's relationship was a twist on the princess falling in love with the rogue and an "opposites attract" kind of thing - Lucas was playing on mythological and movie tropes with their relationship. This is not true of the Anakin/Padme storyline.

Phantom Menace is simply the worst film ever made. I'm surprised AOTC is actually leading this poll.

I like all these scenes ( especially ''walk to the Queen's palace'' and '' C-3PO's factory antics'' ). But I agree with the part that some deleted scenes where really good and they would make movie even better.

    Not really.

In ANH she was more into Luke. And there was no love between Leia and Han.
Then in TESB we have Leia and Han at the beginning of the movie all of sudden desperately in love with each other.

They actualy skipped their entire love story

As for Anakin and Padme we actualy had sparks between them even in TPM ( Are you an Angel, necklace ).
Their love story was more victorian, like from some romantic stories from 18-19 century.

I think that was intention. To make PT feel like it is in different more romantic time period compared with OT.

I usually just skip to the scene in AOTC when all the Jedi fight, Jango's head goes a rollin', and then the war starts on Geonosis. The rest of the movie, while important, I just struggle with re-watching. TPM and ROTS I can watch many times and really enjoy.

Someone saying this should be 12-15 years old when sawing the Prequel Trilogies in the movies.

Not a bad thing at all, but that movies marked you in their own way, and you don't see their flaws just their positive aspects (believe me they are quite bad), to me it was "Return of Jedi", i saw it with 6-7 years in the movies and for years thought it was the most perfect movie on earth, like 5-6 years later i meet "A New Hope" and "Empire Strikes Back" in the old VHS tapes and those were real life changers, but even knowing and respecting ANH and TESB as superior movies i've always found a soft spot for ROTJ, that's just Movie Magic.
