Darth Plagueis In The Sequel Trilogy.

Yes... and they will. The best way to tie in with Plagueis, without making the big bad of the ST be Plagueis, is to have Snoke be the one that Plagueis cared about that he saved from death... again, ironically, because Plagueis could not save himself. THIS should be the story. It allows TPTB to have Snoke be a completely "new" character, while still tying everything together, and indirectly using Plagueis...

Besides, Palpy wouldn't lie about Plagueis, would he?

 

I agree this is a very compelling possibility.

Something that is even more interesting to contemplate with this possibility is that if Plagueis truly did manipulate, motivate and encourage Palpatine to kill his own family, he apparently did not have such concerns with the same happening to him by the ones he cared about, whether they (Snoke) be family or otherwise. Of course, Snoke has also used Plagueis' textbook for molding his own apprentice, by manipulating, motivating and encouraging Kylo Ren to kill his father Han Solo (and perhaps even his mother Leia in TLJ), just as Palpatine did to his own family (yet Luke refused to do).

This whole angle, if indeed this is the relationship Plagueis has to Snoke, is fascinating because that relationship must have been a closer, caring relationship than master and apprentice... and yet they both manipulate their apprentice to commit perhaps the most atrocious deed against the ones they are supposed to care most about, their own family.

The more I think about it, I will be shocked if this is not who Snoke is... and I will be very interested to learn Plagueis and Snoke's true motivations and what it is that they really care about.

 

remember they obviously wouldn't tell us if there is some twist in the film involving snoke's background. however did the chap become so incredibly damaged? something life threatening (or temporarily ending), i imagine. and he has some strong powers, too. we still don't know to what extent, only that he has distilled it into teachings like a certain other dark side group.

 

So....is Snoke Plagueis yet?

Plagueis used force projection to fake his death at the hands of Sidious. But Kylo killed him in TLJ.

no way Snoke is dead. he talked smack about the Emperor/Vader's mistakes and did exactly the same thing himself. nope, not buying it for a second. if anything this only increases the chance of the eventual reveal as Plagueis, or at the least, still alive Snoke.

George Lucas said we would meet the supreme intellect pulling the strings in the ST. everything Snoke owned up to (namely creating the connection) fit that idea nicely until he was suddenly killed. surely he knew Kylo would side with Rey after he formed the bond between them. anyways Ep 9 needs to restablish him as alive in the unknown regions etc and have some type of twist where Rey & Ben take him down but Ben dies, thus ending the bloodline, prophecy thing once and for all.

was thinking about TLJ earlier and i think i cracked it, obviously Snoke is not dead, for anyone paying attention to the clues dropped re force projection, Snoke's general omnipotence and the way he was offed with no problems whatsoever. didn't even see it coming....right? also that stuff in the visual dictionary about him concealing his true forn....

anyways wasn't it the rule of two that ultimately screwed DP over? if i remember right he wanted to be done with that rule but the Sith being Sith always try and kill their master. so in TLJ Snoke encourages Kylo to 'finish his training'...this is referencing the Sith rite of passage to kill their master and become a fully fledged lord of the dark side. basically this fake death is a means of completing his training without actually killing the master, he's not about to make the same mistake again. and it advances the game in several ways in accordance to Snoke's (or should i say Darth Plagueis) agenda, very clever no? Luke is now out of the way, JJ says the prequels will be relevant to Ep 9 and tie the whole saga together, it's time for the the real master to emerge...

 

Very nice catch I don't see what else he could have meant by completing his training, executing Rey wouldn't make much sense.

 

The real enemy of every sith or sith wannabe is his master. Otherwise this was a bad movie that crapped on everything Star Wars.

Rian’s movie will make sense if Snoke is was DP. I will eat my crow on that day. Perhaps what ever DP/Snoke is, they needed a Skywalker to ascend to the height of the dark side.
