    No Sir, I didn't like it :(

Everyone I went with enjoyed it. And I can't wait to see how long time Star Wars fan friends react, I expect a mixed bag. Maybe after I see it again tomorrow I'll have a better feeling.

I loved Poe's storyline, I surprisingly very much liked Finn and Rose's. After watching I didn't understand where the hate for that particular part of the film comes from.

But the "main" storyline with Kylo/Rey/Luke didn't always hit for me. Also once Anakin/Luke's lightsaber is destroyed, pretty much everything that happens afterwards for Kylo, Rey and Luke is lost on me. And I'm not gonna pretend that I know what happened in the last 15-20 minutes of the film.

Overall though I'm very positive on it.

I need to see it again but this is my order:

    ESB
    TLJ
    ROTS
    ANH
    ROTJ
    RO
    TFA
    PM
    AOTC

Loved this movie, TLJ could ultimately slot below ANH for me, but right now I've got it in rarefied air, between two of my favorite Star Wars movies (margin is razor thin)

But after seeing it the first time I really, really loved it!! :D I have to see It a few times more to really decide my full opinion about it. There was so much to take in and process, especially coming flying of the lightspeed hypetrain.

It's daring, different and very unexpected when it comes to the story and the character development. It takes some big cojones to pull the decisions Rian did some for this movie. Of course I found some things to be questionable, however I think that the full result of them are yet to be presented in Episode 9. So I'll wait with the judging on those parts until then.

But overall after the first screening I personally think this was one of the strongest Star Wars films since "The Empire Strikes Back" and what an emotional ride it was! Mark really brings on the performance of his lifetime in this. Looking forward to rewatch it and analyze/enjoy it further.

Wow just wow. This was seriously worst than TPM. This is the first time I've walked out after a Star Wars movie and been unhappy.

Impact react: Great scenes, but not a fun movie. It cant seem to decide if it wants to be serious or schlocky. The action scenes did not seem to get the juices flowing. Slow, painfully slow. I'm going to see it again in a few minutes but we know how that panned out in 99. The first crowd I was with paid 35 bucks a head and barely made a sound in the movie. Very shocking movie too, violent on predictability. I'll post again later we're in previewd for screening #2.

I’ve lurked around here since TFA and this movie compelled me to register and post. Love all of the SW fans here, it does my heart good.

I have to say though, after all the positive reviews of the TLJ I came away tonight stunned at how poor it was. I adored TFA and RO and my hopes for this movie were sky high! It was as big a let down as TPM.

Leia floating thru space? Luke milking some space seal? BB-8 as a slot machine? What was RJ thinking? I am just flabbergasted at the whole thing. Even the special effects were a let down - the riding of the Faltiers (sp?) looked like something from the SyFy channel movie of the week. The huge Crait battle amounted to no battle at all...nothing happened. Crystal foxes show up for no reason and lead the rebels to safety! Awful, just awful.

I am so sorry this is where Rian took the franchise - what a terrible let down after two GREAT movies under the Disney banner. All of the sudden I am thrilled J.J. is in charge of IX.

Oh yeah and after it was over there was a few muffled claps but most everyone just got up and walked out in silence.

It hurts that my hero, Luke Skywalker is gone. I cried when he died. But I LOVED the way they handled it. He gave hope to the rebellion, he saved it. And he went out below two suns. I will forever miss Luke, but I am so proud of him.

Well, but can we safely say that Snoke is dead? ;) I think that what we saw was not Snoke in his true form and that is was only the his current vessel that was destroyed. If he is as extremly powerful as he has been said to be, he is probably just astroprojecting himself from a chill beach somwhere :p

I’m trying not to overreact, but I did not enjoy my first viewing... felt like I was watching a Marvel Movie directed by a 7 year old. I’m going to see I️t again tomorrow. Hopefully I’ll like I️t more.

The argument of “if you don’t like the ride, get off” doesn’t really work for lifelong fans of a beautiful franchise who personally feel (whether you agree or not) that their favorite movie franchise just laid a huge turd. I’m happy for you that you liked the movie, you don’t have the giant black hole where your stomach should be that I experienced walking out of the theater.

    just got home...

immediate thoughts: Rian has ginormous lady balls...in the words of Negan (the Walking Dead).

He has such reverence for the material, but then again, he doesn't. Baby killer lightsaber? Who cares? New major and massive characters? Kill em all. Who cares?!?! JJ and Kasdan created new villains? Who cares?!?! Kill em!

Rian is part Sid Phillips from Toy Story and part Christopher Reeves or Frodo..or something (that didnt work, but still). Its a Jeckyll/Hyde thing. Reverence for everything, and yet willing to let it all burn down. I am suprised something like this came out of Disney, Lucasfilm, and even Hollywood in general, who in my opinion has no originality any longer.

It was challenging. The first challenging movie in a loooong time. I will watch it again and again until I don't feel challenged by it and see if I like it at that point. Much like a scotch with too much peat. You either grow to love it, or finally give up trying to find the correct notes. It will take some time for me. I'm still in shock at the first taste.

On the up side...reading all those novels seems to have paid off...orphans.
