Can you imagine how mad online people would be over that?

I wasn't a huge fan of the animation on Rebels. It did improve over time, but it was a step down from Clone Wars. I get it. It costs a lot less and Lucas wasn't paying for it, but I hope Disney supports better animation.

 

Just for my personnal record. Having Kylo Ren in pure rage wanting to kill his father in ep VII because ... Luke tried to kill him is not a "plot hole" ( ) ...

I'd love to see your Star Wars movie then if you think he did so badly. It annoys to me to no end when people think they know how to make a film. Where did you get the idea that Finn was Force sensitive? Its explained in TFA why he left the First Order you dumb, dumb. I never once saw promotional material of Finn holding a gun, lol what?

 

Maybe he got Finn confused with Lando from the Solo movie?

 

And what annoys me to no end is the utterly absurd idea that just because I am not a professional filmmaker means I cannot criticize a film.

I've heard some good criticisms of the movie, but what could possibly confuse you about that? You might as well say "Anakin killed younglings because he was afraid of Padme dying? Plothole!"

Sometimes, ideas can lead into other ideas. That's a story.

 

It's almost like he resented his parents who sent him to Luke, who he believes was going to kill him in his sleep.

Oh yes, it was one. It wasn't the best thing out of the prequels but if you ask me "plot hole" I wouldn't say no.

There's a difference between disagreeing with something, but acting like you think you can actually do a better job when you're just some random Joe or Jane Doe on the Internet.

 

I bet many people on this forum could have done a better job of drafting an outline story for E8 than what we got. That doesn't mean actually writing the screenplay, just drafting a story outline.

 

That's true. I know some people who think my outline for EPVIII would have been much better. #Cocky

 

I don’t think so I liked it as the start I still like it now. I mean I still have a few problems with it but other than that my opinion hasn’t changed.

You're right, it is original, and kudos for that. But honestly, I'm sorry but I think the general reception of this would've been far worse than TLJ's.

Not necessarily because it's a bad idea, but because it's too high concept.

So again, really interesting idea, but this is 100% why we can't hold Star Wars to our own "woulda, shoulda, couldas." Better to be along for the ride, instead.

 

It's original, but pretty much impossible to explain in a film in a way that would make sense or be fun to watch.

 

People didn't understand it. I knew it from the start but I don't care it was very fun to do.

I know ! But the most incredible thing is that I could explain the whole Ep VII with that.

As I said, it was a lot of fun to do this and that's all that matters.

 

No my opinion hasn't changed, I was really hoping the film would grow on me, but unfortunately that hasn't happened!
