I have seen TFA 6 times and enjoyed it more and more with each viewing. In my opinion it restores Star Wars to what made people love it in the first place. It's fun again. Characters have personality and are very likeable. The force is mysterious again and you don't have to be a virgin shaolin monk to wield a lightsaber. The people that hate on the film and pick it apart is very confusing to me. I was going to make a video addressing the topic but someone already made one and hit all my points.

    For all the haters:

    Black Nerd is spot on.

Familiarly breeds contempt. Anything massively popular cannot escape criticism and cynicism in the era of internet contempt.

The criticisms are an endlessly parroted list of talking points repeated by every internet d-bag out there. No one can formulate any real original thoughts, so they just echo the inane gripes of one another.

Wonderful video. My thoughts exactly although I admit I've taken things far too seriously here.

I don't understand hater's. Why is it so important to bash a film you don't like. I don't get it? Never did!

IMDB is filled with those types of haters who waste time and go around the message boards and post crap. For what? Lol

I try to put myself in the shoes of haters of the film.....and I just don't get it.

There are hundreds of films that I think are trash. Would I EVER join a forum (or website, or whatever) based on any of those films, to constantly bash and trash the films to people who enjoy them? No.

    Fantastic video.
It pinpoints every frustrations I have with haters.

    It's a FANTASY FILM.
I've dealt with people like that BACK IN MY CINEMA SCHOOL years, 20+ years ago.
Back then, they were Frelling on Star Wars, Empire and Return Of the Jedi.
You don't like a movie, FINE.... there are plenty of movies out there.
To see it 10 times and spending a full month ranting about it... I think you just need attention.

And.... 2015 is a great year for movies. If you don't like TFA, there are plenty more you can enjoy.
And, the Black Nerd is right (best video I've seen in a while): This movie is not for fans that already created their own Episode 7 in their heads.... THEY ARE REBOOTING THE FRANCHISE... because, in reality.... Star Wars needed to be rebooted... and... guess what: it worked (#1 All-time, Domestic B.O.).

And with that, I won't argue on the matter from now on... it's 2016, it's Rogue One and Episode VIII speculation from now on (for me).

Yeah you guys don't get it.

Some of us have issues with the film and how it was over rated.

    That's not hate.

So when we didn't like the prequels, were we haters??

That's a silly stance to take.

As far as telling those of us who have issues to stop talking about it....ummm didn't we all talk about TFA for over a year before it dropped??

Now only people who loved the movie are allowed to talk about it??

I think it's very very strange how defensive some are over this film.

    It's like, borderline weirdo stuff.

It's a fun film with a great new cast.

But it fails as a stand alone, as a sequel, and as the first of a trilogy.

It is essentially a 2 hour trailer.

Poorly written and seemingly horribly edited.

And to manipulate the audience, the OT characters are brought back to square one in the most lazy ways possible.

I can't beleive how many fans are ok with Han being a coward and dead beat dad. Oh, and crappy smuggler.

It's lazy writing and a bummer frankly.

    Haters gonna hate??

    How about

    Consumers gonna consume??

I get it. Everyone who worked on the film is very nice and likable. You can still think critically about the movie tho.

It's your opinion and I respect it.

Like I now rate Revenge of the Sith as a better movie than Return of the Jedi.

And I love The Force Awakens.

It's my favorite Star Wars episode so far, better than Empire Strikes Back.

It's my opinion... And coming from someone that have requested Star Wars blankets back in 1980.

And coming from someone who rated Birdman the best movie from 2014.

I just think it's weird how people who dislike this film have a overly analytical nitpicky attitude about it. Never have I seen a movie so picked apart and dissected to the point of ridicule. It has flaws yes. Every movie does.

It's safe to say that this movie is a reboot of ANH which isn't a huge problem in my opinion. It reintroduced Star Wars to a wider audience while still moving the story fowards. I have friends/family who I have taken to see TFA LOVED it. That was the objective. To get everybody back on board. The "haters" are just mad that it wasn't the star wars they wanted. Sorry there wasn't more political debates or people sitting in a circle explaining what happened in the past 30 years.

What I don't get is why those who dislike the film and rate the people who do as mindless, manipulated consumers devoid of critical thinking spend so much time on a website populated by those very same mindless consumers celebrating said film. I didn't like the prequels much back in the day. Would I ever have subscribed to a forum populated by people who do to go tell them why they are wrong? In the most pedantic way possible?

    It. just.

I liked it a lot. Potentially, I believe there is no way for anything to be original anymore. Not because people are uncreative, but because there is nothing left to create just enhance and improve in new ways.

To say it's a rehash of a New Hope is silly to me. I could give you 10 non-Star Wars movies and tell you they are rehashes of A New Hope, if I applied them in the same nit picky principles critics are. And using that same silly concept I could give you 10 movies that Force Awakens could have copied. But it didn't. If one simply looks at the things that are only similar they ruin it for themselves. Nothing is truly 100% original anymore; which is absolutely OK. So if you're gonna be inspired by something, be inspired by gold. Which is what JJ did.

It's hard to be groundbreaking at this day in age; instead, it's now: who truly did the best attempt at the Hero's Journey. And at the end of the day, The Force Awakens did, hands down. That's why to me, it's the best.

We get it, you don't like the film.

Many who even loved the film have also spoken critically about things they have issues with. Almost across the board people are in agreement about 3rd death star amongst other things. You can still speak about issues... But the word "Hyperbole" has never been more relevant. (On both ends of the spectrum)

Now those who don't like it only tell people how much they're wrong??

It's equally strange how aggressive some are over this film.

This is the real problem. I honestly think that I've seen a post like this from each person who has disliked the film. Not on just this site either.

??? - I've been a regular visitor and contributor to the various Rogue One threads here and elsewhere before TFA came out and while there is some scepticism, whether such a prequel makes sense or not I have been unable to notice any "haters".

I think it's fair to say that a Star Wars film isn't just like every other movie, and I think it's also fair to say that plot holes and inconsistencies (in general) aren't exactly helping to get immersed in the feeling of "being there" for some who are not able to just switch off their analytical minds.

The "haters" care about Star Wars just about as everybody else on these message boards, but - as I stated repeatedly and previously - it's all too obvious that opinions about what actually is the essence of Star Wars aren't compatible.

How the screenplay was finally visualized is apparently a matter of taste, but the vocal criticism of various plot holes or apparent inconsistencies is mostly and usually a vocal expression that first and foremost the "haters" would like to see Lucasfilm to get its act together and present us next time with a screenplay that doesn't feature such shortcomings.

And that, IMHO, should be a mutual interest of everybody participating here.

One man's shortcomings are another man's understanding of the monomyth type of storytelling. I for one hope for two more episodes with the very same feel and magic as TFA.

Mutual interest, shmutual interest. There is no such thing as a script that every SW fan out there will like. Ever.

You know, I find it kind of funny that through all these years, I have had to hear so much PT bashing and hate comming from so many people and it is all fine and dandy but when someone dislikes TFA all of a sudden you are a mindless hater who has no right to speak and who's logic for disliking the movie is flawed. Why is this? Is it a new universal rule to be right on all the acusations of why the PT sucked but suddenly you become a mindless loser if you think TFA was bad? In the same way that many SW fans disliked the PT other fans have the very same right to dislike TFA and their points are equally valid on saying why they think the movie sucked. It is not the fact that haters are just going to hate but the fact that we are not mindless drones that have to go with the flow just because many people say so.

Man, he made me laugh to tears! Especially at Mary Sue and Frozen sections. "And if you are Indiana Jones fan... your time is coming." ROFL.

All his points are great, I had to subscribe. :D

This is seriously my biggest problem with people who didn't like the film. And, repeating your problems with it in the most scathing way over and over and over again will not magically make us who liked the movie change our minds.

That being said, I am always trying to follow Wheaton's Law in all discussions, it's not that difficult.

    Wheaton's Law for uninitiated:
