And will continue to do so, until Lucas allows Disney to remake them :p

I hope disney remakes the prequels. Lucas will have to die first and they'll have to wait 50 years. They'll have to clone Ewan McGregor and Ian McDarmaid, because those were the only ones I liked.

As someone who liked all six of the previous films I get the feeling that it is mostly the people who don't like the Prequel Trilogy that are disturbed by people pointing out the glaring flaws this movie has. It is like they want to have an undisputed Ah Ha moment and when they don't get it they either go on attack or they become dismissive and label people "Haters". All seven movies have their flaws and all seven served their purpose. The Original Trilogy introduced us to the epic saga that happened Long ago in a galaxy far away. The Prequel Trilogy had the unique purpose of showing us what was alluded to and setting up things to come in the original trilogy and The Sequel Trilogy has the purpose of continuing the story in a successfully marketable way. they all accomplished what they needed to.

Discussions online tend to degenerate into verbal fights where the argumentation takes a backseat and being impolite, disrespectful is behind the wheel. No matter whether you are defending or attacking an opinion things tend to get personal or people begin to take other opinions personal.
We are so passionate about these here Star Wars emotions run wild and that's when things go out of hand.
There are some fine examples on this forum.

It becomes a game no one can 'win'. Pointless.

I didn't hate TFA but people will label me a hater because I didn't love it. I really enjoyed some things about it and thought other things didn't work or had taken me out of the movie completely. First and foremost I watched TFA as a movie and my opinions about it were made as if I were watching any other movie. I didn't allow my love for the original star wars trilogy cloud my judgement in any way.

The guy in the vid was on point. You can't just go around and impose your views to the people. But it's net, everyone has an opinion about everything, but you can discuss. Be cool traveler:cool:

I'm glad you liked TFA and would be inclined to agree with you on most points except that Star Wars never stopped being fun for me. The people that hate on the PT and pick it apart, or never miss an opportunity to take jabs at it confuse me. It confuses me because it suggests that they believe the OT is perfect when objectively speaking that is patently absurd. The OT is every bit as flawed as the PT and TFA, but regardless of any flaws all seven films still have that same tangible magic and spirit unique to the Star Wars universe. Whatever Star Wars was in the late 70s and early 80s it never lost that in the proceeding decades through the four latest films. It's BS to suggest otherwise.

People can have any opinion on TFA (or any of the films for that matter), and I'm not trying to hate on the haters. But I do feel strongly that calling TFA a 'rehash' of the Original Trilogy is a badly founded argument. Sure, you can draw parallels, especially if you look at the films as a series of events and battles. But Star Wars is so much more than that. The main attraction, for me at least, is the character writing and development, which here contains a lot of originality. Kylo Ren is not Darth Vader. Finn is a completely original and interesting idea for a SW character.
