RUMOR I broke the recent news on MvS's character. Let's discuss.

I think the Idea that Ren is posing as Vader is weak, unless he gets considerable screen time. The idea that he scours the galaxy for jedi/sith relics would explain his hunting of luke in a convenient way for sue. I think If he was in the empire they would have screened him to see if he was vader or not, someone would know about the breathing issues or metal limbs that vader sported...
.It makes more sense that the Empire (first order or something) know his true identity and allow, or even force him to assume the identity of vader...whichever way he has to be mega strong with the force to get to that position within the empire, so either he's a skywalker desendant....or and this would be way more fun, he's a clone of either Palpetine or Anakin...
I think the best reveal for the fake Vader would be that he was an actual clone of Anakin skywalker....so his claim would be true but we'd assume he was an imposter.... (end wild speculation)

 

But Plagueis knows how to "cheat death". "So you're saying there's a chance"

And the Vader tie, which has only recently been rumored to be of even more import, is more a tie of the OT to the ST than a PT to ST tie in my opinion. Anakin/Luke's saber is a PT to OT to ST tie.

I always felt that resurrecting Darth Maul was one of the biggest Clone Wars missteps. But a lot of people like Maul, so that opinion I have is not a popular one.

A lot of people really love the Palpatine Plagueis speech in ROTS too, so much so they want it to mean more than it possibly does.

So what am I getting at? Everyone's going to hold tightly onto rumors that involve things they love about the films until they're disproven.

Kylo Ren is relic hunter, fixated and posing as Vader . . .

I believe we have come that much closer to him being a Solo.

It would explain a great many things.

He idolizes and looks up to Vader's legacy and power. He wouldnt be some punk that is trying to be Vader because he would already be a Vader from his point of view. It would be his legacy to carry and he would need to be in a position of power in order to be taken seriously. For Kylo, this would be the most direct route to power and infamy.

 

Yes, and Abrams tends to try to make his villains at least a bit sympathetic, so add in the fact that not only is he a Solo, but he was separated from his twin sister and indoctrinated by crazy First Order types and viola!

 

personally, i love the Kylo as Vader rumor. the way i see it, Kylo is a leader and wants power, so he finds an old, shitty light saber, puts a mask on, and masquerades as a Sith lord; people are either cowed into following him or want to follow him because of his suggested power. i wouldn't be surprised if he can't use the Force with proficiency, or at all for that matter. it's when he runs into "Uber" that he gets a real taste for the power of the Dark side.

Kylo being a Solo gets a little trickier, but i've been holding out for it; would he be living a double life, or is Solo's kid part of the Order now? i suppose there could have been a political rift in the family but it seems a bit strange. still, i think in terms of story Kylo being a Solo would be pretty epic. he hates his dad for not being strong with the Force and so declares himself not just any Skywalker, but the Skywalker ala pretending to be Darth Vader.

if Kylo is really pretending to be Vader, i cannot wait to see how his meeting with Luke turns out!

My question is, if Ren is posing as Darth Vader, how long has he been this imposter? At what point did he step in, with a mask on, and declare himself to all of his Imperial comrades, as Darth Vader? Was it thirty years ago? Was it twenty years ago? Or was it recent? And what qualified him to do so? How did he build credibility with those around him? And why didn't anyone notice, that Kylo Ren and Darth Vader are never together in the same room together? This is just does not make sense...

 

Easy to do as long as Kylo Ren avoids any burial sites

 

Kylo mate, toys r us sell the vader mask and legit lightsaber...duhhhh why all this relic hunting....

 

Kylo posing as Vader is like Wicket posing as Chewbacca.

 

Why was there a battle on Jakku? And why does Ren go back to Jakku?

Taken from his birth parents Leia Organa and Han Solo to be trained by his Uncle, Jedi Master Luke Skywalker.

Kylo's Story
Kylo was the only known survivor of an attack on the Jedi Academy. He was taken by a band of cult pirates (The Seven?) at a young age. They thought a force user raised as one of them could be useful to their cause so they let him live. Kylo then trained himself in the art of the force, but quickly drifted down a dark path. He became one with his captures and grew stronger and stronger. Still bitter his Uncle and parents never tried to rescue him (he was presumed dead) he became obsessed with his grandfather Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. He studied everything he could find on Darth Vader and as he became older and wealthier he began collecting anything and everything he could find relating to Vader or the Dark Side. As time went on, he had visions of becoming Darth Vader himself. He had his relics. He had his force abilities. He had his BLOOD! Now all he needed was his POWER! The power to control an Empire and command them to do his bidding. One artifact has eluded Kylo, Anakin's Jedi Lightsaber. Kylo was obsessed and knew that once he had the saber, there was nothing that could stop him. Once he had it, he would find his Uncle and his parents, and bring an end to their resistance!

Known Siblings: Kira Rey Solo.
Kira was also being trained at Luke's Academy. She also survived unbeknownst to The Seven but could not return to her normal life. She was hidden by her parents and worked tirelessly to find her mentor and missing Uncle, Luke Skywalker. She lived on Jakku amoung the scavengers hoping to find a clue to help her in her search for Luke.

 

I think those who grasp at Plagueis as being the uber baddie lack the imagination to conceive of a new villain, or how a new one could pose a threat to the Resistance

To be fair... Christians, Muslims and Jews are all part of the same pantheon... as are Satanists, who represent the other side of the coin. They all adhere to the same basic philosophy of the monotheistic God, they just view the requirements a little different. In the same vein, Buddhists are a branch off of Hindu, and while the tenants are vastly different, the underlying principles on which the faiths evolved are the same...

I would say Jedi and Sith are the same religion, but different sides of the coin. While there is room for there to be a new faith (Force wielders who do not even recognize a difference between the light and dark sides of the Force, for example) I think they will stay with the Jedi/Sith duality

I can see Kylo attempting to assume Vader's role... I can't see him trying to assume Vader's mantle... if he were trying to pass himself of as Vader, I think he would adopt the Vader style armour, not something close... it would be like Jaxx showing up and saying, "I am Chewie... I have fur, like he did, never mind that mine is green and shorter... BELIEVE ME"

And, if the settlers on Jakku are the old crew, why does Kylo show up and slaughter them...

Unless... someone on the downed Star Destroyer had something (a lightsaber, perhaps) that went down with the ship, and Kylo is looking for the scavenger that found it... perhaps Luke led the assault on the Star Destroyer, and that was the last he was seen...

 

This makes the most sense as to how the saber got to the surface of Jakku. Much better than tumbling through space.

 

I gotta say, I really hope Kylo Ren isn't imitating Vader, that sounds really lame. I want a new villain. One that I can respect.
