Ouch to Poe's parents (although, let's be real. If Shattered Empire didn't come out we'd have threads about who Poe's parents are and if he's related to Rey or anyone else or not. Heck, there are STILL (admittedly crackpot) theories about Rey and Poe being related!).

Anyways, I'm a little late to the discussion about the dream in Bloodlines, but here's my take on it:
If you just mention the dream of her giving birth and then dying, I'd find it interesting. But when I read the quote and it had "on a table," and "twins," my mind immediately went to Padme, since we've already seen that scene before.

The whole dream sequence felt like it could have been working it's way back in time in loops.

    Future: Han dying
Past: Chewie being a prisoner somewhere (whether this is Life Debt or maybe even the Han Solo Anthology film - idk)
Distant Past: Her own birth and her mother's death

Future: Luke searching for something and never returning
Past: Lost in the forest of Endor perhaps?
(Not as) Distant Past: The Death Star of A New Hope

So while I wouldn't rule out the possibility of it being symbolic of Rey and Ben being related, I think it's a little bit of a stretch to say that this dream is evidence for that.

My two cents about Leia's dream discussed if I may. I actually think that Han in the snow might be the future and actually be Ben, not Han.
We know that Kylo/Ben was lying in the snow in a pretty bad shape, bleeding. A vision such as this could easily be interpreted as someone being dead. (Hell, I know some casual viewers of TFA who thought that Kylo dies at the end.)
Remember, at this stage when she has the dream in Life Debt (if I'm not mistaken) Leia has not even given birth to Ben. We know that Leia thinks that Ben and Han are very much alike - it's worth to mention the line in TFA where Han says that he stayed away so that he didn't remind Leia of their son. We also know that Kylo thinks that Ben was "week and foolish like his father". Despite what some think, Han and Ben do look alike on many levels...And there is a strong physical resemblance there.

I also think that the dream part about the birth is more likely than not Leia seeing/feeling her mother Padme.

Chewie in a cage. I haven't read Life Debt yet, but from what I know about the plot, isn't it possible that Leia's dream takes place while there is a uncertainly as to if Han and Chewie's liberate Kashyyyk mission would be successful or not? One might assume that if things were a bit different and the mission failed,Chewie might have indeed ended up like the other wookiees they wanted to help, i.e. enslaved?

Interpreting dreams is a tricky business even if the Force was not involved. Remember. In Force visions and dreams there could be past, present and future. And those could be fluid. Always in motion the future is.

Looking at the similarities between Rey and Luke (which people suggest means they're related), this talk of dreams is interesting.
Rey dreams were of course about being alone (and I imagine Luke felt this too) however, the bit where she "dreams of an Island" is what intrigues me.
This is clearly Rey dreaming of Ahch-To, seeing the future. Where she will meet her mentor, Luke and learn to be a Jedi.
Now, Luke it seems had similar dreams. For when he arrives on Dagobah he describes a familiarity saying that "...it's like something out of a dream..." and then later "there's something familiar about this place...".

It would strike me that it was always Luke's destiny to train to be a Jedi and so perhaps his dreams showed this in a vague sort of way.
Of course later it's up to him whether to follow that destiny or not.
Now with Rey, I have always felt that, regardless of her being Luke's daughter or not, her destiny was to save the Jedi Order and in turn the galaxy itself.
Not much of a jump considering how she is the clear hero of the trilogy. But nevertheless, this is why for me she dreams of Ahch-To. It's not just about seeing the future but rather it being her destiny. And I think that's an important difference. The Force is showing Rey her destiny, where she needs to go to find her place in the universe.

But what I am really getting at here is that, to me, all of Rey's journey and the search for Luke is more about Luke being the mentor figure - the new Ben or Yoda.
I don't see the search for Luke as the father being the thing that is set up here. Even from Lucas' early chats with Mark Hamill in the 70's, he had Luke be the old mentor - not a father to the new hero. So again, this is something that alludes to Luke being the mentor figure that Rey must find (like Luke did Yoda) so she can find her destiny and become a Jedi. She dreams of Ahch-To (and in connection Luke) not because he is her father but because he can train her in the ways of the Jedi...

Luke had a similar vision in Weapon of a Jedi book and this was called 'A vision of the past':

"He was swimming in dark water, beneath two pale moons in a sky spangled with stars. He moved through the water with smooth, easy strokes, alternately gliding along the surface and dipping beneath it. When he got tired he surfaced and treated water gently until the ripples he'd created ebbed, turning the water into a mirror of the night sky. He looked down at the water and saw his face looking back – except it wasn’t his face. His reflection had black eyes and mottled gray-and-green skin wreathed by tentacles.

He dove, powerful kicks of his feet taking him deep beneath the water. He inhaled water, but didn’t choke – the oxygen in it revitalized him. He smiled. It was peaceful down there below the surface – a realm of pleasantly cool water and muted sound.

A rock wall loomed ahead of him , with a dark oval cut in the middle of it. He swam down into it, then up through a twisting corridor. His feet found purchase on step stones, and his head broke the surface of the water. At the top of the stairs stood a human in dark gray and brown robes. He was holding a lightsaber, which he held out with a smile."

But I still think Luke is Rey's father, but throughout most of the movie he only acts as the mentor. He doesn't tell her the truth until she finds out through someone else probably. ;)

George Lucas did change his mind often then because shortly after ROTJ Lucas wanted Luke to become a father himself and become full circle as a character, which makes sense IMO.

It made sense until he conjured up the prequel trilogy. A lot of what happened during the original trilogy was just made up on the fly. Once he had time to start fleshing things out with how the Jedi Order worked the Luke getting married stuff was tossed aside.

But the question is into which direction the storygroup goes. KK should also have a final word.

I'd love to get my hands on that early script by Arndt.
I may be wrong (again) but didn't Rey meet Luke early on in that script? Her house burned down and she went on the road and bumped into Luke?
A lot like Luke meeting Kenobi, I guess?

Again, that strikes me as setting up the student/mentor relationship rather than father/daughter.

And I have to say that this would bore me a lot. I mean again the same mentor/student stuff that we see in every fantasy related movie. But we have never seen a father maybe reluctant training his own daughter. Luke would also not really be emotional involved if there is a stranger showing up at his place. So I don't buy the random scenario.

That may be true, but what was left of the Jedi Order after order 66?
After the Battle of Endor Luke was the only Jedi left, did he know about all these Jedi "rules" , I guess not. From what we know now he was definitely interested in Jedi lore, but do we know if the new Jedi Order he tried to establish followed these old rules? I don't see no reason for Luke not having a wife (or girlfriend) and child(ren), especially after the Battle of Endor when the Sith were defeated and there was a time of galactic peace, a perfect time to start a family :)
The only reason I could think of Luke not having kids is that he explicitly didn't want them because of "certain" risks, but the same can be said about Leia and Han....Leia wasn't a Jedi but still the daughter of Anakin...

very true, we often hear doubts or resentments against Luke having a kid, but we hear no single doubt about Leia having a kid, especially after the shock of the Vader reveal to her on Endor. In my opinion she should have more doubts about having a kid than Luke, because Luke saw his real father Anakin returning in the end, but Leia never had the chance to deal with her father.

Additionally if we want Luke to stay like PT Jedi, this means Rey can also never marry/have kids and we will get the samel boring mentor/student stuff in the years to come.

Why not a progression? I really doubt Luke created the same old and long gone Jedi code for his students.

I thought the same thing a few months ago. However, according to the story group (who are still following Lucas' rules), Lucas never intended on Luke getting married. Also, Luke has spent his life collecting Jedi lore and has most likely been in communication with Obi-Wan/Yoda. It's safe to assume that when Yoda was training Luke that he learned more off screen.

i'm gonna sound like a broken record here (i think many of us are on this thread lol)..

Rey could be a complete random, and Luke teaches her.. i'm fine with that.
Rey could have parents that are important, but someone other than a skywalker/solo.. i'm fine with that

to me, star wars isn't about good vs bad or even about saving the galaxy.. it's about family. Luke may have been the hero of the OT and helped save the day.. but he hasn't had his happy ending yet.

He gave himself up in ROTJ to try and save his father... a whopping great big huge emotional attachment.

Princess Leia: But, why must you confront him?
Luke: Because, there is good in him. I've felt it. He won't turn me over to the Emperor. I can save him. I can turn him back to the good side. I have to try.

Luke: No. You're coming with me. I'll not leave you here, I've got to save you.
Anakin: You already... have, Luke. You were right. You were right about me. Tell your sister... you were right.
Luke: Father... I won't leave you.

Luke was different from other Jedi... it was all about family to him, but it was Love..not Fear that was controlling him.

I don't know who Rey is.. not a freking clue, but i hope i know who Luke is and i believe that his happy ending would be to have a family.
I would be sad if after all he did to save his family... it ends with him. just doesn't sit well with me and makes no sense.

i've offered no evidence that Rey is Luke's daughter there lol, but i don't think there is 'actual' evidence either way yet.

    Rey Skywalker ftw :)

Do you have an interview or something similar where that is mentioned?

We know very little about what Luke has been up to, only that he was looking for Jedi lore, is that it?
Many things can have happened off-screen, we just don't know for sure and btw. Luke followed his own heart instead of fully listening to Yoda's advice and following that...

Perfect post and Han&Leia had their happy ending in ROTJ, but for Luke it was more a bittersweet ending. And when you add all that he lost between ROTJ and TFA, there must be a fitting and satisfying resolution for him. Only training stranger Rey doesn't sound like anything satisfying at all.

I would argue that Luke already has a family. He has a sister and a nephew. :pHaving a family is not only about "cloning" his own genes and reproducing...
Luke will have a happy ending if he manages to bring back his nephew (about whom it was been implied he feels responsible for) back to the light and back to his sister/his nephew's mother and manages to bring back home the son of his best friend. It is really that simple and a very satisfying arc for the last of the jedi - the selfless, compassionate knight we know Luke to be.
Also do we really need another Skywalker with potentially parts of Vader in her???
What we need is a Kenobi to redeem the failure of Obi-Wan as regards to Anakin, making things right as regard to the new Skywalker boy, that's what we need. ;)
Then the circle will be complete.

The events of TFA would strongly disagree as to Han and Leia happy ending, no?
"Pass what you have learned" is what Yoda told Luke. There are no strangers as to passing knowledge of the Force. There is nothing nobler than that, but if my favourite theory as to Rey's parentage is true, Luke would be passing on his knowledge not to a stranger but to a descendant to his mentor Obi-Wan, and that, is certainly the most satisfying thing IMHO.

I have a little deja-vu, sounds like someone with whom I discussed about a Kenobi descendant in a galaxy far far away. :p

But you know I have to disagree and that only bringing back Ben is not a fitting resolution for Luke as a whole, because when he is gone, he has noone from a direct family to follow. Yeah, I know Leia is also a kind of family, but only far away relatives (and I have a personal negative history with this myself. I have a half-sister I never met and no contact with the big family of my aunt anymore). ;)

We should probably create a FAQ with some of this stuff. If you got back a few pages I'm sure someone has he links to Pablo Hidalgo. We're kind of in a loop discussing the same ideas over and over. That's not anyone's fault. We just haven't had any new developments to debate.

I'm sorry but I strongly disagree.
Leia is "a kind of a family"?! "only far away relatives"?! WTH? Apparently you have very strange notions indeed about what family and close relatives are...
Leia and his nephew are his direct relatives, bringing back Ben will serve Luke's arc tremendously: 1st because Luke is Ben's uncle and thus helping bringing back his sister's and his best friend's son back is a very important thing; 2nd Luke is a jedi and was Ben's teacher and managing to save his fallen student is a most noble and important act. In fact I would say that bringing Ben back is the job that Luke has in this trilogy regardless if Rey is his daughter or not.
