SPECULATION Is Luke Rey's Father? - The Evidence For and Against

Kylo Ren probably turned with 23. That would make the most sense:
- Anakin turned with 23
- Luke almost turned but he chose the light side with 23 (ROTJ)
- Finn betrayed the FO with 23

23 seems to be a very important number in SW.

This was the best theory. Unfortunately it isn't possible anymore.

 

That makes sense to me too, and yeah Rian fueled that fire regarding the theory again recently lol

It had substantial problems with it and I personally am a bit embarrassed I made it to Bloodline with it.

 

Oh right yeah. Well, Lor San Tekka was on that planet I could see a Luke & fifteen year old Ben visiting that planet, especially as it was a hub for Emipre research. Also its completely possible that a 15 year old Ben could have stolen a ship and ditched Luke for a bit. I mean, he's the son of Han Solo and the grandson of Anakin, kid's bound to be able to pilot at 15 and likely to have a rebelious streak.

I'm not buying the theory, but then again I've only just heard about it. and I still think it could be belivably swung if the writers chose to. also it would link up nicely with all the Kylo Ren 'What girl' stuff. he sure seemed mighty interested.

 

We know he's a great pilot thanks to Han too.

It would be still possible if Rey isn't related to the Skywalkers/Solos.
Luke and/or Ben could abandon Rey on Jakku after they had killed her parents. I like to think that Luke found these dark side users who had a child. Luke (and maybe Ben) kills the parents. Luke needs to kill Rey too but he can't, so he drops her off. Or Luke needs to kill Rey but Ben saves the little girl by dropping her off on Jakku.

So many possibilities.

 

I think it is the right time for me to get out the Star Wars Internet before I got myself spoiled like I was for Ep VII.

Because there seems to be a belief that a conflicted Ben who has not fully fallen to the dark side could not have done something that most think was an evil act... like drop off the girl on Jakku. It is not like a character has to be all good or all bad. Good charatcers can do questionable things. So, I think it is entirely possible, and the most important question is his motivation for doing so.

If you subscribe to the Rey Solo camp, then Kylo dropping Rey off on Jakku could have simply been due to an ill conceived idea of trying to protect his younger sister. He has (potentially) been manipulated by Snoke from his very beginning and feels as though his parents (and maybe even Uncle Luke) did very little to protect him from such a sinister attempt to influence him. He kidnaps his little sister (she willingly goes along with her brother), takes her to Jakku (which is a tough existence but may somehow protect her from Snoke), and is the male voice who tells her, "I will come back for you, sweetheart."

When will he come back? After he has eliminated the problem. Maybe Kylo Ren's true end game is to do what he thinks his deceitful parents (didn't tell him about his connection to Darth Vader) cannot do... eliminate the big bad Snoke and in the process, taking his rightful place as the heir to Darth Vader's legacy... with his family (Rey). "Join me and together we shall rule the galaxy as (father and son) brother and sister." I might even like to see him go full psycho Commodus in Gladiator, pining for his own sister... as dark for a Star Wars movie that may be.

Anyway, if Kylo was the one who dropped her off, I think she would have to be Solo, which would give Kylo a tragic, misguided character arc similar to his grandfather... a good person manipulated into doing evil for what he believed was the ultimate good.

(I don't know how likely this really is, but I still think all potential Rey origin theories are on the table... whether it be Rey Solo, Rey Skywalker, Rey Kenobi, Rey Palpatine...)

excluding the obvious timing issues, there is also the fact that he was instantly fascinated by her... fascinated to find out who she was.

i agree that the way he said 'what girl?' could be interpreted a couple of different ways, but he had never met her before Takodana (imo)

 

I always thought his "what girl?" was because he saw her in dreams like she saw him.
