Kylo is a Liar

Well, Rian Johnson himself said that Kylo and Rey aswell believed it.

 

If that is the case, then it is clear that its basis in fact is still in question. I also remember hearing in the interviews that the answer would not be given to us the public in episode 8...

 

The only question left is if JJ decides to change directions. It's clear to RJ that in his film Rey is a nobody and that Kylo is telling the truth.

JJ can still do whatever he wants, but it would be a significant departure from the theme of TLJ to make Rey's parents matter again.

 

So, we're gonna need another Yoda' confirmation scene in the final act of the trilogy, akin to what we saw in Episode VI? I'm in. The more Yoda we have, the merrier.

Yoda and Rey scene would be amazing TBH. Him hitting her with his stick and being all wise, and Rey going WTF who is this guy as he explains force ghosts to her.

They'll reveal the truth in the post-credits scene just you wait.

 

Like Marvel. Except it's gonna be that Han faked his death for reasons, and has come back to tell Rey the truth despite failing to do so in TFA.

 

And he'll do it over e-mail. For extra emotional weight.

Rey is a Palpatine.

Thats why she went straight for the dark side like Luke says, and her parents traded her in for money.

 

So Palpatine had an illegitimate daughter who was a drunken junk trader that traded Rey for booze?

 

Yep, sold her as a slave and left, like Kylo Ren says in TLJ. He wasn't lying.

 

There is a story group in place. Rian worked with them, even though he wrote an original screenplay. It's running across all the media like the books and the comics and everything.

This post summarizes things perfectly. If Kylo is lying, then I guess Maz is lying as well and I think Most would agree that this is not the case. Maz is telling her that she already knows the truth. Kylo is basically saying the same thing. Rey just hasn’t accepted it until that point. She has repressed her memories after a traumatic childhood event. She subconsciously knows but she has blocked it out. That is the wall that Kylo comes up against in TFA during the interrogation.

Daisy has been saying since the beginning that Rey’s past is not important and that it is what she becomes is important. We as fans are the ones who have made where she comes from so important.

As far as her power goes it is explained by Snoke. He states that the light was going to rise up in someone to balance out the surging power of Kylo. Snoke when facing Rey realizes it is her. Her fighting skill comes from growing up an orphan fending for herself and the underlying Force that was always there. The Force did not awaken in her until TFA.

Rey’s bond through the Force was not created by Snoke. This seems to be a Force thing. I’m pretty sure what Snoke was saying was that he manipulated that bond. He was manipulating the future that they were seeing. Rey was seeing that Kylo would turn good. Kylo was seeing that Rey would turn dark. Even after Snoke died they still had the connection. This was evident when Kylo was in the base on Crait and Eey was standing in the Falcon at the end of the movie.

Finally, Rey was from Jakku. Her parents were dead beat drunk scavengers who traded Rey to Unkar like a piece of salvage. She was never off of Jakku until TFA.

 

Nope, there's a long list of things that can tie this together and Rey's parents aren't necessary to do that.

 

Or how about the culmination of the Skywalker Saga, if it’ll end or not?

 

I'm guessing this "tying together" will be a bit vaguer than we assume. Could just mean we see the Rebellion finally triumph, or a truly good version of the Jedi finally rise. Could have something to do with Kylo. I don't think we need Rey's parents for this.

Honestly, if we find out that Rey's parents are special, it kind of ruins the point of TLJ: the hubris of thinking only the Jedi are right, or only Skywalkers can be heroes.
