    So lets wait till E8. Act2 of a trilogy is where the character development takes place. Act1 is only the introduction.

    1.Jedi Academy flashback I say around 3 mins. (I think the scene we saw in teaser 2 with Luke & R2 was Luke morning the deaths at the Academy)

    A flashback makes sense to me due to all the lack of 30 years time frame. Two flashbacks I predict. 1.Jedi academy rumor 2.Maz, Rey, Finn, Han, group flashback to locate Luke

    I think there may be more than one short scene with Luke in the movie. But I think he will get as much or more screen time as Yoda serving the same role as Yoda in Ep 8.

    1. May not be a flashback.
    2. No one knows what Kylo is looking at.
    3. Might not be Luke.
    4. Maybe.
    5. If there is a flashback I think he will definitely be featured.

    Imaginative speculation.

    Why is there no "That's not true! That's impossible!" option on that poll? All those answers assume that rumor is true. I for one refuse to believe it unless the movie itself plays out that way.

    I believe Luke will have as much time as Obi-Wan did in SW or perhaps ROTJ. Having him only in the last few moments would be a waste; unless he has a bigger role in episode 8. Which might be the reason why when talking about the film's length, it was said it would leave us wanting more! Having Luke just at the end, would have us wanting more!!!

    I think we will have more Luke than MSW claims. 1- Reshoots. 2- the second filming unit (common on big pictures) might have a separate shot list. 3-things change in editing.

    Where did the rumor of the Jedi Academy flashback come from? Seems like anything that happened at the Jedi Academy could just be relayed in a conversation instead of a flashback sequence. If you look at the two pictures (luke with R2 and Kylo Ren), I think Luke was either watching the village burning from afar, but could not do anything about it as he knew it was a trap (its a TRAP!), or he was coming to fight Kylo Ren and did not arrive in time. Either way, it looks like the same locations. Regardless I'm not a big fan of flashbacks, after awhile it just becomes cheap storytelling.

    ok then...well atleast he is in the scene. I'll trust Kasden. My hunch is they knew if they threw all the old big 3 in bulk in one movie, they would have a hard time developing the new big 3 to the extent they wanted to. Sounds like Han gets the playtime this movie, perhaps Luke the next movie - maybe ending in his death, and then the third movie Lea gets her turn and force ghost Luke.

    I believe the flashback of the academy occurs during the Maz,Rey, Finn, Han, group flashback.
