    Although, if she's going to use both light and dark, red and blue make purple. I don't think Mace had a patent on it :D

    When I first saw her fight on Jakku with a staff, I (and many others I'm sure) figured she'd wind up with a double bladed lightsaber. It was unavoidable.

    I kind of feel like the staff was a weapon if convenience... it's what she had. There's no reason to think she needs to go back to a staff... she makes a decision to use the lightsaber and she uses it very well in the throne room. It might be a symbol of her embracing being a Jedi, to use a single blade. She doesn't really carry it around after she starts training with the blade. Does she?

    There was a kinda significant shot of the blue crystal in Luke's/Anakin's lightsaber at the end of TLJ. Also Leia telling Rey they have just what they need to start a rebellion during that scene. That kinda suggests Rey will use the blue crystal to build her new lightsaber.

    I hope she has a green duel bladed saber. She is good with the staff, so it would be the logical choice.

    Maybe this is a thick question or you may have answered it already but wouldn’t the skill for a double edge saber be different from that needed for the staff? With the staff Rey’s hands grab both edges of the bar and if it was lasered she would definitely sever her fingers with it...,

    I dunno (as long as it's not red) it could be any color, but it needs to be double-sided. Also, we need see a lightsaber getting created via live action that isn't a deleted scene.

    We've seen Darth Maul use one. Don't really care if Rey does. She's been badass with one blade. I'd rather see her stick with it and design a really nice hilt.

    Hope the mods don't mind me quoting my own posts. Anyway I saw this image over on crappit and it was a lot closer to what I was describing;

    Imagine without the cross guard protector. One blade double hue? One side red, one side blue?

    I've been thinking. How about a mood saber? Kinda like a mood ring. The color changes depending upon Rey's mood. Green when she is happy. Blue when she is sad. Red when she is angry.

    interesting but it would probably need a special kind of kyber for that to evolve?

    I imagine it has to do with center of balance. That's what kind of intrigues me about a lightsaber. The hilt holds all of the wieght, so the balance is all messed up. No wonder so many limbs were lost in Star Wars. A double edged saber would be difficult to wield without the weight.
