Yes. Except that now my reasoning behind my theory is much, much better.

Before TFA: At first I thought she was Leia and Han's daughter (the table read) but, after a while I didn't give it much thought and focused on other things.

After TFA: Luke's daughter. Her journey echoed both his and Anakin's in both visuals and story similarities on the surface. As well as it seemed the Force was leading her to finding Luke.

Currently: A Skywalker by either Luke or Leia. Part of me prefers her to be Luke's daughter as it would mean a clash of the Daughter of the Son and the Son of the Daughter but then I feel they will ultimately have to find a need to come together to bring Balance of the Force by working together to carry on their Grandfather's Legacy but, I think it still works fairly well in the case that she's Leia's. At the same time, I'm trying to go into The Last Jedi with an open mind to not be disappointed as well as for the fact that Rey is amazing in her own right and doesn't need to be anything to add to her already strong character, as she could do similar things with not being a Skywalker. I just think it adds a bit more if she is.

While watching TFA trailers leading up to the movie, I was particularly intrigued by the dynamic that Rey and Kylo would share on screen. I watched those trailers through the eyes of someone who believed they had to be related, either as siblings or cousins, especially after hearing Kylo talk to Vader's mask: "I will fulfill our destiny. I will finish what you started." In this context, I believed that the "our" was the 'Skywalker' destiny of embracing the dark side, and Rey was undoubtedly included in that legacy.

Now I don't believe Rey is Luke's daughter. She's lived as a lonely, isolated orphan almost her entire life. She is not emotionally attached to the 'Skywalker legacy,' so for her to discover that Luke is her long-lost father in episode 8 would fall completely flat, in my opinion. For me, the Skywalker legacy has always been about fighting dark side tendencies. We saw this with Anakin fully surrendering to it and Luke's anger particularly in front of Palpatine in ROTJ. And now Kylo is battling the demons of his past, some of which we can assume are manipulation by Snoke and his belief that he is unable to live up to this legacy; the legacy itself is almost too big for him.

We have our Skywalker. It's Kylo Ren.

So you believe the ST is really about Kylo, not Rey, the ostensible protagonist?

It would be likely that she is connected to someone important in the movies, like Luke or Ham, but I still think that (even though it would make sense-the movies are about the Skywalkers) she could just be a random person of random parents that happened to be in the wrong palce.

I wouldn't mind it if she were both a Skywalker and a Kenobi. Luke's daughter and Obi-wan's grand-daughter. Naturally, we'd need the backstory of how Obi-wan ended up marrying and having a daughter, whom Luke married after ROTJ. Seriously good genes! Midiclorians up the wazoo.

Obi-Wan laughs at your notion that he would have to be married to sire a child, as if one woman could tame that stallion.
    Just listen to these calls.

*Giggles at the notion that LFL would try another "I am your father" reveal in the middle movie of a SW trilogy...*

I know who Rey's father is.

But my lawyer says I better keep my mouth shut unless I want to pay a lot of child support.

From the very first viewing I noticed Kylo Rey dynamic that would be quite disturbing if they were related through blood. That dynamic is expressed through palpable sexual undertones that seep out of them during interrogation and fight, hell even before, when he met her in Takodana forrest.
So...in my reasoning, Him being a Skywalker forbids Her being one.
He is the last one. And the emmotional output of his redemption strongly depends on it. If indeed his redemption is where we are headed, it would be in the bad interrest of the story if they diluted that legacy with another Skywalker. Not to mention total unoriginality of 'you are my daughter' moment....ugh.
The Force bond thing, that I believe was formed between them just adds to it. No one wants to be in the head of their brother, lol....thats just gross. :p

She works much better as a Kenobi. And getting a Kenobi-Skywalker(s) for the post ST would be a great hommage to OB1-Ani's relationship.
I for one do not think there is SW without Skywalkers. Period. SW without Skywalkers at the forefront of the story is an anthology movie.

I understand where Greylo is coming from, but I think the intention was to show Kylo's will to dominate and lack of respect for personal boundaries. It's meant to make us uncomfortable.

If that was sexual tension it was very rapey. I don't think they will have Rey and Kylo hook up.
