While I support France... did you just double post to be at the top of this page?

How else is anyone supposed to see the most important problems with this film?

A comprehensive list of everything wrong with The Force Awakens (dumb title, The Phantom Mneaces is the best title that a movie has ever been graced with):

    • No Jar Jar, hands down our all time favorite character. Star Wars didn't become Star Wars until we met him.
    • Not enough CGI... I hate it when a film looks so good that I forget I'm watching a movie.
    • Too many old people... seriously why would anyone want to see old people? They smell bad and move slow.
    • No fart jokes... how is anyone supposed to laugh?
    • The acting is atrocious. I can't tell that the actors are acting... how do I know its a movie if the actors are acting so natural?
    • Where is all the people who dance with lightsabres? It won't be Star Wars if there are no elaborate lightsabre dances, because that coupled with Jar Jar is what Star Wars has and always will be about. All I have seen are primitive swings. Sheesh, you'd think they'd want to make a good film, but they're just lazy actors and choreographers. BORING!
    • Why isn't Duel of the Fates music in there? I mean, duel of the fates is the main theme of Star Wars, it should be in every scene, every teaser, trailer and tv spot. In fact the boring opening crawl and credit music should be replaced with it. The music should play nonstop on repeat from start to end, and even then some more.
    • No George Lucas. Without him, the film cannot have any genius, it won't be good. If only he wasn't limited during the OT and had full control, they would have been masterpieces not subpar b movies.
    ;)

No TIE Interceptors, TIE Bombers, A-Wings, B-wings or Y-Wings - all the major starfighters last seen in Jedi - at least not in what we have seen. It's possible they could put them in somewhere - but nothing in the trailers.

If I double posted then it's an honest mistake. I didn't mean to and I will edit. K here's the thing. One of our members @Jedi Master Kalu was selfless and creative enough to post those new avatars so we can show our support in a creative star wars fashion to the families of the victims of those whom they have lost. I'm not on the level of double posting for my sake or any sake other than a mistake being made on my part. Members of the Cantina we're able to come together for Daniel Fleetwood and make our UNIFIED voices heard. We will do it again. It's called solidarity for a humane cause with the tool that we utilize best, our hardcore star wars community.

    It was a joke...

Are you trying to call me out for joking calling you out for double posting? Or becuase I am not using one of your avatars? (I don't use avatars if you haven't noticed). I sympathize with the people of France in these dark moments, and I show my support via other channels and methods. We should have a dedicated thread for this in the SW7SA forums, since they are probably more visited than the off topic forums.

I was never friend to electro staff. Digging it up for the new movie, having stormtroopers use it and Finn - as former stormtrooper - be trained with lightsabers - or any other swords - seems so much no-logical to me that I don´t like the idea at all.

Since I went into this whole process of a new trilogy (which I never ever thought would happen) with a completely open mind and no preconceived notions, my answer to the question is not one damn thing.

This is what i am seeing and disappointed in, everything seems to point in that direction while throwing in some random planet that has snow on it because people loved Empires Strike Back. To many parallels that seems to be towards a soft reboot, way to much.

I am concerned and disappointed in what seems to be a lack of advancement in technology? Perhaps that is not a big deal, but overall we don't see big advancements in this trilogy. In the 30yrs of empire you cant tell me no amount of advancements have occurred? They are a military driven Empire, war and military are the backbones of military/civilian technology advancements. Perhaps it is that we just don't see it or perhaps people don't care of it, but it would be interesting nonetheless.

My BIGGEST Disappointment is JJ Abrams on-board, i find him an average director, not all that inspiring as they could have found someone better suited. However, i will give the movie a shot, thank goodness he wasn't the only person to make decisions.

Overall i am looking forward to the movie, in part that it is Starwars but at the same-time i hoping for it to be successful while i am very skeptical as i have laid out above.

I get fans having reservations that this is a rehash of ANH, but I think this can succeed if the character arcs are different in the ST.

The PT was about a kid who went bad, the OT is about a kid who is tempted by the darkside but remains good. Who knows what Rey, Finn, Poe and Kylo Rens character arcs are?

To me SW has always been about the characters and the story is background music. I'm really interested in these new characters and seeing if they progress or fail by Episode 9.

What dissapointed me so far are the simmilarities with New Hope. Don't know if that is playing safe or completely intentional,
but I will leave that on 17th December, when I will be going from the premiere.

So far, what dissapoints me a lot is the idea of Luke and more so a Jedi being a legend. It's only 30 years for God's sake! 60 years after Jedi purge.
We still do remember Nazis and so more, from era way before internet and here, we are talking about spacefaring Galaxy civilization!
I do understand, that the Jedi vs Sith clash and the Sith should be mystery to ordinary and not high ranked people. They couldn't know what was actually happening,
only what the Republic and later Empire fed them. But Jedi's were kinda big institution and part of the Republic.
Everyone knew Jedi, even Anakin from dustball recognized Qui-Gon by his ''lasersword''!!

Third thing doesn't tie into the movie, but I am dissapointed by the new EU a lot.

I see your point and respect your opinion. I think they played it safe this go round. Star wars has a formula that has been tried and proven. There is an intricate style to the SW universe that resonated and is the sole ingredient that propelled it to world wide status. I mean especially after the prequels I can imagine why they didn't want to risk straying too far away from that. For me as a hard core all in fan, I love seeing the throwbacks and nostalgia. I'm more focused on the story and quality of acting and the movie striking the right balance between the old and the new. I think Rian Johnson will push the envelope a little but IMO, JJ is a good choice for a secure solid launch of the new trilogy. JJ is a smart guy. I have never felt uncomfortable with him at the helm. Like Mark Hamill said, "everything's changed and nothing's changed". Plus! We really need to see the movie in it's entirety.

The only thing that makes me go ..."hmmmm"....is the starkiller weapon. ( deathstar 3.0?)

at first glance it seems like they settled on the same design as the deathstar....and that could seem a bit tired.

but....with all the cool designs so far ( my god I'm telling you BB8 is going to be the breakout star)...I think the starkiller killer weapon could work ( if they take it in a direction I think they will)

can't wait to see how it all plays out.

What direction do you think they will take with starkiller base?

    My opinions only...

Basically not focus too much on just "blowing it up again" and not focus so much on the weapon itself.....but more so on the damage it can create.

If this super weapon is a living breathing planet ..( rather then just a metal man made Death Star) ..that harbors inside the capability to Kill/destroy/wipe out Galaxy's.
It is a metaphor for mankind.

hopefully the focus is not to somehow destroy the weapon with 3 torpedo's..( what is the point)...but realize that this weapon can never be destroyed.
If the focus is on the damage that the weapon can create ( imagine the shadows of Children burned onto the walls of the Hiroshima dome or the falling man of 9/11)

and how to control the power it has inside.....or maybe use it in a positive "Light"

A nice idea, but this doesn't help the victims at all. (I guess next week it's usual business again)
I'am tired and sick of watching news, it's so disgusting what happens around the world nowadays.

    Off Topic?
I know that we are on a Star Wars board and we discuss Star Wars stuff, but there are things in the world that are much more important as Star Wars.

    @Travcon
You're striking back, because I rated your last post as a Dislike.
Let me inform you that I rate very rare someone bad, just look in my "Ratings given" statistic.
My numbers are: post count 1163 I gave 2,334 good rates and 7 bad rates and 5 yellows. :)
Your numbers are: post count 440 you gave 545 good rates - 55 bad rates - 61 yellows.
You follow a more belligerent rating style tending to the dark side if you proceed this way. (emperor)this guy could be you one day :D

The only thing I'm disappointed with is the sudden flood of footage. It's cool to see new Star Wars stuff, are you kidding me? but I think they have shown us too much.. I refuse to watch the Disney behind the scenes stuff because it's just gotten a little out of hand IMO

This bothers me too, I feel over exposed.
During summer there happened nothing and now every day is something to read or watch about Star Wars.

You're right, but it feels strange, because we got not much in last months and now the flood breaks in.
We are not used to it anymore, they did a good hide game since 2014.
