Cool little Peli Motto cameo with her droids.

Didn't expect the Tusken tribe to get taken out off screen like that!

    Black Krrsantan is f'n badass!

    Mixed on the cyber punks.

    Cool new Rancor.

Danny Trejo is now a star wars character!? Hell yeah!

The cyber power rangers bikes are awesome but not sure it fits Star Wars and especially on Tattoine. Would make more sense for Coruscant during the prequels.

The chase wasn't terrible but not great either and definetly slower than it should have been.

STAR WARS: THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT
Episode 3-'The STREETS OF MOS ESPA

This episode was full of details. I’ve never felt so angrily desiring for more minutes in a single chapter. What we got unsolidified my concerns of anything kind. My understanding now for the next episode is that I assume Boba Fett will be going to war against a certain faction? I'm very interested in the Biker girl? They keep giving her screentime and I'm interested to see who she is. Could she be hiding some type of plot on the side against everyone?

Fennec Shand! Wow! She has without a doubt become my favorite with her approach to being cold and unmerciful. It compliments Boba’s way of things as they have to agree upon their action strategy. If it was for Shand half of everyone in the series they met would be dead to display the ruthlessness in Boba’s reign. I wish she would have stressed to him how important respect is! Allowing Black Krrrsantan to leave the base unharmed was the more infuriating and anger-inducing moment in all my years as a Star Wars fan.

I was expecting more of a showdown between Boba Fett and Black Krrrsantan, but what they give us can’t complain about. You can see the raw and brutal strength Black has. How he was able to secretly enter the facility without being alerted I have no clue. One thing is for sure Boba Fett won’t keep his guard down again. Having his allies run through the base and magically save him at the last minute was cliche, to say the least. However, I desperately wanted the encounter to have a life or death struggle between the two. Maybe Boba using his wrist rocket to blow Krrrsantan back and give him enough time to suit up at least with his essentials would have made the scene better. It was almost as if he was throwing him around to then wait for the guards to save Boba.

In the future, I assume Boba Fett will learn to ride the Rancor so it'd be nice to see him ride throughout the city of Mos Espa with the baby rancor. As far as the imprint on the creature goes I was kind of confused since both Boba Fett, and Danny Trejo were both staring at it. I'd just wish Fett who was so enthusiastic about seeing the creature could keep that enthusiasm/energy with his enemies who are trying to KILL him.

I have quite a few questions concerning me. So here we go.
    1. Is the biker girl Arden lyn from the Old Republic she does have quite the resemblance? Maybe it was a tribute to her character?
    2. Why did the Hutts offer the Rancor?
    3. What is Jabba the Hutt's son Rotta?
    4. Who was the director of this Episode?

I already liked Fennec in The Mandalorian and Bad Batch but now I'm an even bigger fan. I like her more in each new episode!

Yeah, seem rather odd, definitely more suited for Coruscant. The bikes should've been old and used.

Did you catch the easter egg from the Star Wars Holiday Special? Fett said, paraphrasing: I've ridden something 10 times his size!

This episode didn't do it for me. 4/10

Very little happened and what did take place was almost entirely exposition or boring action; and what's up with the slowspeed chase?

Highlights include Danny Trejo and the new rancor.

Fett is making allot of mistakes, he is not a crime lord, yet. I don't think Fett's a bounty hunter anymore, he is just trying to find his way in this galaxy. Fennec Shand is still a bounty hunter. she is ready to kill at a drop of a dime, so yeah I see why Fett's new journey is boring to some but I'm having a blast. I really like the Pike's entrance at the end. Storytelling is like old pulp fiction. I think the week long wait is overwhelming and people expect too much. Hopefully it gets better. I'm just an old Star Wars fan, still can't believe we are getting this content! This episode really makes me want to break open my old Legends Boba Fett tales!

Oh, I've had lots of fun with the previous two episodes; I liked Ep1 (7/10) and loved Ep2 (9/10), but this one was fairly pointless and didn't have much to grab my interest (4/10).

No, I did not? And to what might he be referring to? I'll have to do my research because now I'm interested to see what it was.

And I believe that all of his mistakes aren't just writing problems. They've done this to irritate us in my opinion. He will need to adjust to this role he isn't understanding. When the bodies start dropping and the people around him start dying he needs to become cold-blooded and understand that Bounty Hunter and Crime lord work are two different jobs.

    Btw, nice post mate :D

I agree, @Rogues1138 !!! These weekly episodes have an old 'Saturday afternoon movie serials'-feel to them. This one didn't live up to last week's but the same could be said at times with Mando Season 1. My gut tells me that we're being set up for a wild - Ep.5-Ep.6-Ep.7 final run. Only time will tell.

First off, I would bet money we're not finished with BK this season yet.

If the production rumor mill is to be believed, we still have Cobb Vance, Bossk, Cad Bane, Din Djarin, and Baby Grogu set to make an appearance.

I also suspect a 'surprise' cameo like we got in the season finale of Mando. My two guesses are Han Solo or perhaps the introduction of Mara Jade played by Karen Gillan into canon. Come on, people, I'm allowed to dream! ;) :)

I liked the exposition scene in the beginning for some reason. I guess the idea of powerful crime families in charge of territories in Tattoine like mobsters and maybe because I like the droid

One thing I'll have to say about the show's DIRECTORS: Steph Green (Ep.2) knocked it out of the park compared to Robert Rodriguez (Ep.1 & E.3)

I'm no director critic, but I agree with comments I've read here that RR is more of an action guy and not-so-much of a 'setting the stage' guy. I loved the night skyline shot we got of Mos Espa in this episode. BUT the lead-up to Boba's confrontation with the cyber-punks could have been more visually dynamic by giving us more seedy, trashier-looking, night-life shots to give the audience a stronger sense of Mos Espa's less-than-savory, after-the-sun-goes-down, 'underbelly.'

What we know about the episode Directors going forward:
    • Bryce Dallas Howard is expected to direct Ep. 4. I thought she was an absolute rockstar in her last episode ('The Heiress,' S2:Ep.3) of the Mandalorian.
    • Kevin Tancharoen will be directing Ep.5. This will be his first time directing a SW show. He's known for directing superhero/Mortal Combat-type stuff.
    • Dave Filoni will be directing Ep. 6 along with co-writing the episode with Jon Favreau. Speculation is that we may see the live-action debut of bounty hunter, Cad Bane, in this episode.
    • Robert Rodriguez will return for the third time to wrap up the season. Given what you'd expect from a finale, this episode should be more up his alley.

Finally Machete is back in "Machete kills again... in space"!

But on a serious note- this episode was actually more fun than the previous ones, but if I had to describe this show in one sentence: After one good scene, there will follow ten bad ones. After three episodes I still don't know what the story of this show is. Where is the conflict, where are the stakes?

    But the good stuff first:
    - Danny Trejo, I hope we will see more of him.
    - The relationship between Boba and the Rancor has potential.

    The bad stuff:

    - The action direction is terrible. The fight choreography is hard to follow and that chase scene... Worst chase scene ever. Sorry, but I think Robert Rodriguez is a bad director.
    - The music felt off. What was this music during the Tusken massacre? It sounded like something you would listen to in church. IMO no music would have been much more fitting during that scene.
    - Billie Eilish and her gang didn't look like Star Wars.

I don't know whether this was asked before or not, but Boba was mentioning that he rode a much bigger creature than a Rancore before. Was this a nod to the Holiday Special?

Just an FYI on this earlier post: Star Wars Meg announced today on her daily Youtube video that Kevin Tancharoen is the director for Ep.4. I just thought I should mention this because her reporting has been pretty reliable.

I actually really liked this line. Boba keeps making dry comments like this in the show (like the like about needing a protocol droid in Chapter One) and I think that they’re hilarious. I think it also shows how much Boba has mellowed out since living with the Tuskens; it’s the kind of “badass” threat that he would have issued out during the time of the OT.

I doubt this is the last we see of the Hutt Twins and Boba even has a line saying as much right afterwards. I don’t think people should ever take what a Hutt says at face value. I also think the lack of podraces with all the Tatooine focus in modern Star Wars is weird but I disagree about Mos Espa. To me, the city looking big and sprawling suggests that the people there are generally thriving (as much as one can ever thrive on a desolate rock like Tatooine) with both the Empire and Jabba the Hutt gone.

I generally enjoyed the episode, though I agree that the action scenes were pretty bad. The only armor Boba was wearing was of the plot variety and I don’t know why they added the back cracking sounds if he was going to walk off completely unscathed? I was multitasking while watching the speeder chase the first time but I definitely noticed how slow it was when rewatching that scene.

Here are some of my other random thoughts:
    • I was really glad to move past the Tusken flashback subplot and focus more on crime lord Boba.
    • I really liked The Mandalorian connections. The Peli Motto and Pit Droid cameo was dope, and I liked seeing the guy setting up the Stormtrooper helmets on spikes like in that iconic shot from Mando Chapter 5. I really thought we were about to get confirmation that it was taking place right before or during that episode with like a Mando cameo or seeing the Razor Crest flying in the background.
    • I really thought that scene of Boba seeing the smoke in the distance was going to be him finding Fennec’s body but was confused by it being set during daytime, unlike the scene from the Mando episode. I was not expecting to see the wreckage of the Tusken village like that. It definitely paralleled that scene of Luke coming back to the burnt Lars Homestead in ANH. I definitely think that the badass Tusken lady survived.
    • I wish they gave more indication that Boba and Krrsantan have a history. If anything, Boba’s “advice” gave off the opposite impression, though that could have been a sarcastic remark on his part.
    • I really liked seeing Boba bond with the Rancor (I really hope that it’s Muchi) and overall, I liked seeing a more humanized Boba Fett in this show so far.
    • The Kamino flashbacks are just like Mando’s PTSD flashbacks from the scenes in the forge from Mando Season One. Seeing the same footage again and again until we get the full thing later on.
    • The Nightsister/Rancor line was definitely an EU reference but I don’t know to what specifically.
    • I’m not a big fan of the gang overall, but I dig Sophie Thatcher’s character. (She looks a lot like some of the Qi’ra concept art if I recall my Art of Solo book correctly.) They look like they’d belong more on Corellia or Coruscant though. Hopefully the gang grows on us more over time.
    • The Danny Trejo cameo was spoiled for me but I still liked it lol.
    • Meilooruns!
Overall, I agree that this show is all over the place, shockingly low budget looking and just kinda so-so thus far, but I’m still getting enjoyment out of it and hope it’ll improve in the next four episodes. I just love getting weekly Star Wars!

Robert Rodriguez brought in Danny Trejo, which is awesome and so now I hope he can bring in Antonio Banderas if there's a 2nd season

To me it seems like they had maybe 3-5 pages of script and made 6 episodes out of it. There's really a very little of story progress and instead we get some not much important stuff and lots of slow sequences. I don't know how much effort they've given into the preparation of this show but it doesn't seem to be much.
And visually it's also a little disappointing. Too much obvious CGI.

By the way I giggled when I saw Machete himself with the Rancor. It was a little weird seeing such familiar face there, but it was fun at the same time.

This show just ain't doing it for moi. Boba is not the Boba I used to like as a character, the story is incredibly dull and feels lazy and at times just plain stupid, terrible visual effects and some janky costumes, I liked Fennec in The Mando but in this show she's just kind of...there, and the novelty is gone. Bummer cos I love Tem Morrison & Ming-Na Wen.

    And those feckin scooters...

Never mind. Danny Trejo, the Rancor and Black Cassandra make it worth while :D

I feel bad even posting this, but I’m almost embarrassed by the series at this point.

Episode 3 may be the lowest point of live action Star Wars since the Ewok movies. This series is just brutal to watch. Did Favreau ask Rodriguez to make Spy Kids in Space? The acting is terrible, the costumes are terrible, the F/X is terrible…the speeder bikes, good lord, the bright colored speeder bikes with 57 side view mirrors - WTH was that? Who thought that was proper in Star Wars? It made me feel like the awful Dex diner scene in AOTC…it just completely takes me out of a galaxy far, far, away…and drops me into central New Jersey or worse. Did Disney cut the F/X budget for this show? It looks terrible even compared to The Mandalorian, let alone any of the movies.

What is the plot? It’s just people walking around in bad costumes surrounded by bad F/X. The whole series feels and looks like it has been filmed on a studio backlot…which it has been. I’m really trying to think of something positive to say because I was pretty optimistic about the series when it was announced but geez, every episode has been a MAJOR disappointment.

Hard to believe I thought Boba’s death in ROTJ was a letdown for the character - that was a well-acted, noble and glorious end compared to what is being done with the character in the series. Brutal, just brutal.
