The Cantina Mental Health Thread

Hey everyone, I'm sorry I've been off here for a bit but I'm very heartened to see that you all are keeping this thread going . You are all amazing people. I'm going to make a point to stay active on here again, life's just been catching up to me lately. Furthermore, don't be surprised if you get a PM from me in the next few days; I'd like to get to know you all a bit better, and I feel that the best way to do that is with conversation .

@p03 : I'm glad you came to this thread . Please always keep us in mind, we may all just be internet friends but we're friends just the same. Have some hugs just for being you. *hugs*

@WookieeMonster : I hear you, man. I spend so much time on this site that I've really wanted to look into trying to become a Staff Member. As it stands, I'm working on getting my Captured Bounty badge and just doing what I can to support the site from an unofficial standpoint. The way I see it, this site will (hopefully) be here for years to come, and it's going to take more than just mods to keep it the awesome place that it is. You're a legend around here dude, and it would be a crying shame to see you go. Have patience, keep up the good work, and I'm sure something will turn up eventually; in the meantime, you can always try to come up with an awesome idea for a thread like someone around here did *cough cough* and add to the overall experience of the site. If there's ever anything I can do for you to help in your quest, just shoot me a PM! Also, I was away from my computer all day and completely missed your status with your daughter; tell her hi from me and that she's awesome .

@Jake Wolfe : That was a powerful story dude, and that's coming from an atheist . Honestly, I respect everyone's beliefs, but I've never really understood organized religion; to me, it always starts with the best intentions and ends with the worst consequences. I've known more people like your pastor than I care to count; they're perfectly nice if you agree with them 100% and treat them like royalty, but you're basically scum otherwise. Sigh. I've found that the truly nice people, as far as religious folks go, are the ones who have their own personal relationship with their God and don't give a hoot what anyone else thinks. I knew a couple once that were this way; she was found of saying "We don't go to church because God doesn't take attendance," while his was "Brother, you're going to heaven whether you believe it or not, and I'll see you up there!" Like I said, I'm an atheist, and a staunch one at that, but it's this kind of mentality that I've no problem with; if you're basic tenant in life is "love one another", it doesn't matter one bit if we disagree on what's coming after death: we'll get along just fine .

I've got a bit more to say, but to be honest I've had quite the day and I need some sleep. Gonna check around the TFA forum for a bit and then catch some zzzzs; I'll check in with ya'll tomorrow (well, later today where I am). May the Force be with you!

Glad you're doing better! I find my stress is the worst during the day, but I can usually calm down during the night. (And yes, gotta remember that; I've gotta remember to get in with my doctor and get back on something, but that's a whole other conversation...)
