I really liked how Rey looked at Kylo right after he killed Snoke...
Buf even though I believe Kylo is redeemable, I think putting him together with Rey would be a long stretch and difficult to digest for large part of audience. I don't believe they would do that at the end of the trilogy.

 

Um, light and dark...I never said it would help any Reylo. I don't care about a Reylo.

Not a fan of REYLO, my spin is Rey is playing the James Bond role, she'll do anything for the resistance even the unspeakable, but once Kylo can't be swayed she's gone.

Great post and Reylo is not dead! As Mark Hamill said recently: "There's romantic tension between Rey and my naughty nephew..." Even Rian Johnson had said a few weeks ago: "There is romantic drama [but not like Han and Leia]." The relationship evolved into something more complex and deep, especially with the force bond (which by the way did not end when Snoke died). Kylo and Rey are still evolving, and I do believe he will be redeemed in the end. He may have stayed with the First Order, but who's to say he won't destroy it? His journey could be like a reverse Anakin - his love for Rey would ultimately lead him to the light, unlike Anakin's "love" for Padme. Adam and Daisy have great chemistry in their scenes, and it would be a waste to throw out all that's built up recently. I don't think that in Episode IX it will be a full blown romance between them; but again, something subtle like what we saw in TLJ. Even if there is no romance in the last film, I think it would be just so sad for Han Solo and Leia's only child (and presumably the only Skywalker alive) to remain in the dark. There were plenty of foreshadowing in TLJ indicating that all is not lost with Ben Solo; and SW is ultimately a film about hope and redemption. P.S. Luke killed over 300,000 people (in Death Star) and he's still seen as a hero in SW

 

The old Reylo is dead...LONG LIVE THE NEW REYLO...ISH!

People were saying before TLJ (even me at times) that Reylo "wouldn't happen, or be acknowledged, or even have a hope of being hinted at-Kylo and Rey will have no relationship".

Well TLJ came out and steamrolled them. We got a force bond, them developing a rapport of genuine emotion (whether romantic or not) and a hint at the end that they still have an arc to pursue in which all their development will play a part (whether as enemies or rivals, it's hinted the bond is still there and Kylo still has his pesky anti dark side compassion for her.)

So yes I agree that the scenes at the end and Rey's refusal of him doesn't bode well for a romance or connection or anything happening bwteeen them, but JJ may still surprise us, Reylo isn't "dead" until IX has come out and disproven it. Those chanting its death now (not naming any names) were probably the same people who said it'd never happen before TLJ and called it an "abusive relationship", they were wrong with TLJ and they may be wrong again with IX. Let's see.

 

I enjoyed triggering Soloists with my avatars. All the more now that ReyLo was confirmed!

Sorry, but if people continue to peddle Rey Solo I cannot take them seriously.

I think the physical atttaction is obvious now and that the possible romance is not dead. Though I think the happy ever after ending is now highly unlikely. I envisage Ben letting Rey go but doing the right thing by her - because he loves her, being he end game.

You’re a legend. More than anyone on these forums you have presented these ideas and be proven 100% right. I just wanted to make that known and thank you for your posts.

Ps. I think there might be a story with ReyPoe but I don’t think Poe is her equal and that might play into the ReyLo story - only he is her equal. Hard to say though, ReyFinn isn’t out of the question but is unlikely.

I think the trilogy will likely end with Rey not being coupled up.

 

Remind me again. Where were you when we correctly predicted a force bond a year ago? And that Rey would be a random?

Oh, that's right. Harping on about how Rey would turn out to be the daughter of Han and Leia.

What a way to write a romance. Make the characters meet at the *** end of the second movie with no prior connection. Stuff that legendary romances are made of. Han and Leia ain't got nothing on their romance, what with their absolute lack of dialogue and shared screen time.

This trilogy has been targeted at 12yr old girls from the get go. If you think they’ll drop the forbidden romance with the bad boy from the story line then you have no grasp of storytelling, adolescence or mythology!

I could see them setting it up, after a few years time gap, to show Rey realising that Poe isn’t the one for her. He isn’t her equal. But Ben is. It has to show Rey that until she accepts the connection and that they’re soul mates, so she doesn’t give up on him.

As you say, there is very little to get excited about with ReyPoe, unless they make ep9 and 18 and have some full on nudity.

 

Rey Solo is like a zombie at this point, undead until IX comes along and FINALLY puts it down.

Yeah Rey and Poe shared one look and said hi to eachother (they hadn't even met before) and suddenly it's a romance with a happy marriage, a bunch of kids, and a house without a mortgage. WTF.

 

I wouldn't fancy being the guy dating a chick who has a forcebond with her "other half of a whole" .

 

Let's be steady now. Don't give JJ and Terio ideas for cringy romance writing.
