I don't get this. You're saying movies from today have to be perfect while older movies don't? All these movies are made by humans and humans are full of mistakes. Always were and always will be.
In the movie business you can't avoid mistakes. You actually have to embrace them and make the best out of them. Rian tried this with the throne room scene. I may not like TLJ that much, but I appreciate Rian's braveness alot.

If anyone displays those traits, someone should point them out in the discussion as they are unacceptable. Not ad hominem, of course, but when they emerge, someone should acknowledge a racist/sexist/misogynistic/entitled comment has been made. And the other party should clarify their point of view.... That’s called accountability for one’s words.

I would say kylo is not aware the saber broke. After it happened the ship was cut in half and he fell unconscious.

Yes. This is a useful error and they didn't want to solve it.

He just left his weapon because if he would have one, he would have stabbed Rey.

So that's a very useful mistake and I'm quite sure it was made on purpose on post production.

It’s so obvious that guy in the video just wants to call Rey a Mary Sue :D

I don’t think he saw the saber breaking, Bandini, but perhaps that’s just me.

They solved it by removing the weapon. Yes, they could have cut the scene shorter or completely, but then the suspense would have been gone too. The story is more important in this case.

Then why you complaining about some of the minor issue of TLJ that is found with the older movies? The year of movie makes no difference. None of those issues I presented has anything to do with the technological advances between 80s to present. I didn't know bad acting was only limited to 2017. You're statement is cop out and there is no excuses why it's a "pass" for the older movies to make similar mistakes. This just proves that SW has always been a average set of movies. Sorry that i pointed out a flaw with narrative of that video.

It is not a mistake, it's lazy editing and putting the dirt under the carpet.

It's also a lazy mistake from the previous movies, there no excuses from 1970 and on. There are plenty of lazy editing in the OT. I'm pretty sure the vast majority of people who saw the film didn't even notice it until someone pointed it out.

But until someone points it out, you look at the whole choregraphy ( not only the dagger dude ) you're having a good laugh because it's an asbolute mess. You have guys turning around alone, beating the other dude by making crazy moves just to avoid Rey ... It's the only humor scene I laughed a lot.

BTW, I still love this stance. Yes, it is terrible but the other movies were terrible too ! :D

Since you're here from not so long, I find very funny that people are allowed to hate the prequels ( all of them !! ) and there is no problem at all to hate 3 movies but if you didn't like TLJ, you clearly crossed the line !

Its because We see the same hate for TLJ as we did for the PT but you guys tend to brush that off and or justify yourself to like the PT to down play TLJ when you guys were dogging the PT only 5 years ago. Most of us that you're talking about is tired of the hypocrite views among the tlj haters. The tearing apart TLJ frame by frame while ignoring the same faults as the previous 6 movies.

Sorry I can't take someone who claims that the PT is all the sudden good compare to TLJ, when they were talking crap about it just 5 years prior. im sorry, you can't just cover up 10+ years of hate just because there is a new movie that didn't follow your view of SW. It's sad that there is a handful of people who literally analyze TLJ frame by frame to find faults in order to justify their hate for a movie. If i dislike something, i'm not going to spend a lot of time tearing apart when I can move on to something else that I enjoy.

I willing to bet my yearly salary for the next 5 years, that if social media as we know it today existed in 1999 to 2002, im pretty sure we would see the exact same thing about the EP1 & 2 as we do now with TLJ. If you don't believe me, look at the various PT threads from 5 years ago and tell me if its any different? Sure TLJ isn't a the best SW movie, but it's not nearly as bad as Episode 1 and 2 based on 10+ years of hate they received. sorry I don't buy that excuse.

Watch the documentary The People vs George to see how people reacted to the PT. It's not much different than it is today.

So you're saying it's okay for the other movies to have lazy editing and have mistake both acting ang logical, but it is unacceptable for current movies to have the same thing? Why does the year of the movie being made makes any difference? All I'm asking is why you selectively dismissing movies to make your point? And Why don't you spend the energy complaining about the other movies like you do about TLJ? Or is it that you're looking for any excuse to dog TLJ?

BTW, I personally think TLJ is mediocre but not nearly as bad Episode 1 & 2

    Do me a favour.

Put some space in your text, it's unreadable especially when it's not your familiar language.

Nope. That's not what they're saying. They're calling you out on the standards you hold for this movie compared to the other movies.

They're saying YOU must find the other movies terrible, if you think THIS movie is terrible.

They're saying this movie can be enjoyed and loved, despite their technical flaws, just as much as the old movies were enjoyed and loved, despite their technical flaws.

They're saying that a few technical mistakes and visual continuity errors don't make a movie 'bad', past or present. You're the one making that inference.

Compare it to actual productions. I don't remember something like that in The Force Awakens.

But you're right, these are details but it's been 249 pages buddy, I don't like to repeat myself and I had to this a lot.

Just take a look at the whole thread, I was very active at its start.

    Thanks for the effort.

I liked the prequels, you can browse at your will there, I never said a bad word about Star Wars until TLJ. Not even once ! Not even about Jar Jar. 1 & 2, it was Star Wars to me with its good and bad but I felt I was in a GFFA, a feeling I didn't really had in TLJ.

It just didn"t work for me. I don't have a bound with any character left and surely not with the characters we encounter in ep VIII ...

Read my previous answer. It's about 2015- productions and yes, it is a detail but you guys love to shorten long posts to one sentence. I've posted many times here, we're getting round and round like on the thread of Rey's parents in Ep VII, still arguing the same thing.

I'll finish with one funny story.

The very previous day ( is it correct ? ) before TLJ, I went vocal ( like some people here ) that I was absolutely sure that people would dislike this movie whatever ! The only thing I would have never ever expected is that I would be one of them !

I was very active there before, I did even craft on this very forum the most crazy theory about the ST on the whole Internet and since TLJ I have to hide there ( :D ).

Like my friend master Luke I might become a little grumpy but everything is good since I'm still not milking animals :D
    --- Double Post Merged, Oct 1, 2018 ---
I don't think anyone of these are intentionnaly done. That's the difference. It is not done to fool people.

But considering the ST as a whole story, the first movie is also terrible, we will agree there. It is incredible to me to think that they started this trilogy without any clue about what they were doing. It's mindblowind to me. Really.

Even if TFA made me want to go to see ep VIII, I take back everything I said about it. It was absolutely lazy too.

There are some Clone Wars episode with a much more deeper story, even the BF2 campaign is epic considering what we had with this ST.

As a whole, it is a total mess. Who can watch back ep VII and not laughing or facepalming to the end scene ?

It made the ST unwatchable to me.

BTW, I just don't understand why some people enjoyed to see people being bullied, slapped, acting like idiots, dragged to the floor, humiliated and then failing during 2h30.

I don't buy a ticket to the theater to see this. Not my kind of cinema.

I'd rather be called a shill than a racist, wouldn't you? Being accused of racism is arguably the worst insult I can imagine, followed closely by accusations of sexism.

And here's a big difference: Sure, a bunch of rando's on YouTube might use terms like that to describe people who liked the film. There's a surprise: Seeing anonymous loudmouths on YouTube tyring to make a name for themselves. Big deal. Meanwhile, the insults levied at the people who didn't like the film are coming from mainstream media sources, established professionals at various publications - not to mention people actually involved in the production of the movie itself.

I thought that line in Family Guy was lame. Given that there is only one single star destroyer in that shot, it is clear that the Imperial Fleet has dispersed around the planet, trying to establish a sort of blockade, and moving to intercept oncoming rebel craft. Flying off in another one of the "infinite directions" would only have led to the same problem with a different star destroyer.
Sure sounds like General Rieekan is saying "meteor activity" to me.

To be honest, there is one thing that totally ( for me ) give another level to the prequels and this is the Clone Wars animated series.

It gave a real depth to all the characters of the prequels and some people should be able to understand that for example, Jacosta Nu had a longer backstory than Snoke and it can't be satisfying for some of us.
