I'm trying to think of a death in Star Wars from a minor character that was as powerful as Paige? Nothing off the top of my head. For such a minor part the entire thing was performed very well.

On Friday, Lucasfilm asked "What's your favorite Star Wars film" and the answer surprised me.

    My reaction to the results:

    I mean, I'll take them. :D

I'm wondering if this has anything to do with recency bias. Also, just 9% for A New Hope? Come on! It deserves better. Definitely better than Revenge of the Sith.

What the actual hell?! With 10k votes? Wow. Very happy for TLJ and RotS! This feels rigged or something, but who would even bother to do that. :p

Personally, I can't pick one, but I'd say RotS, TESB and TLJ are my favourite. That's the top 3 in this poll. Cool!

Yeah, especially since TFA gets 4% and Hope only gets 9%.

Reading the comment section of that Twitter post is actually refreshing/surprising. On what is their favorite movie. It's a small sample size for sure, but nonetheless it is surprising.

The wet blanket brigade is losing their stream. There simply have been anything to keep supporting the "Star Wars is failing" narrative. Also, it seems like Kennedy has done a tremendous job finding creators and being able to course correct when necessary. Rogue One was a mess and they made the correct changes. Solo looks like a similar situation.

I think the problem is that ANH & ESB sort of cancel out each other, so it affects ANH's final votes. Many fans think ANH & ESB are the cream of the crop of the franchise and then everything else is under that. But you can only vote for one, and ESB is more popular so that ANH will suffer. ROTS is the most popular among PT fans so it doesn't surprise me that it is up there because most of them probably voted for that.

Wow Sith over Hope? Okay then. Out of how many votes? A bit surprising with TLJ. Considering how divided the film is.

A good number, I think. At least enough to have a fair gauge I guess.

It doesn't work for me anymore. Look like the bots moved in... The vote total had an unrealistic surge several days after it started.

It wasn't a scientific poll. You were right to be skeptical of the results when they first came out (if indeed you were). You are right to be skeptical of the results now and any surge in voting.

The funny part is that Star Wars promoted the poll on May the 4th. After 3 days it had less than 10K votes. Few days later it has 120k. Basically there were 100k votes long after the poll was promoted.

I'm not sure what these poll riggers hope to gain. lol
