What I can’t stand is when people who post blogs telling everybody that their opinion is not based in reality. It is absurd to say the person who disliked TLJ is just an idiot and their opinion is not valid just as it is for someone to say that a critic is retarded because he likes the movie. Why is it so hard for people to accept the fact that someone has a different opinion?

Sure, I always say I scratch my head when people say TFA is better ROTJ but I am also aware that it’s just my point of view and I have no right to intrude on that. There’s a difference between having a healthy discussion about what the film did or didn’t do that worked for you vs. calling everyone names, etc.

We are better than this. Don’t be like the Trump supporters.

As Dr Manhattan, sexy blue God made of light, said "The only thing I can't change is human nature".

He's right. Human's will always be like this, squabbling like cats over fish, with opinions. The only thing we can do is recognise this fact, and try to change it in our own lives, or uphold it.

It's obviously fine to dislike a movie, but calling one "bad" and saying it ruins other films can be wrong. In the case of TLJ, it is wrong.

Dude, just because you think the whole point of star wars is to follow the Skywalkers doesnt make it true. Thats not the point of star wars and has never been, if you think thats the point, you have missed it since day 1.

    He has a point though.

I do not mind Rey being a nobody if the the force awakens had set up correctly but they didn’t in my opinion,(in my opinion, in my opinion).

If you really wanted Rey to be a nobody just say who her parents were from the beginning. but because they wanted to tease you with those force visions, you are allowing fans to speculate that she is of someone of great importance, same thing for Snoke.

This is not a Rian Johnson problem. I think Rian Johnson was just trying to tell his own story. The problem I have though is that this trilogy’s story seems to be muddled when you combine TFA and TLJ . I think TLJ works as its own piece but as part of the 8 part skywalker saga? I am not so sure.

Rey being a skywalker DOES NOT imply that only Skywalkers are special force users. We have seen this proven in the prequels, clone wars, and Star wars rebels that other people are equally powerful or moreso than some of the sky walkers.

The point of the saga being about one family is to tell a overarching story about generations, it is a metaphor the can apply to everybody. For example, we can relate to Luke because many of us aspire for something greater or we have issues with our parents.

Does every star wars story need to be about sky walkers? No, which is why we get movies like Rogue One or RJ new trilogy. But as far as finishing this 9 part saga? I think it should be. But hey that’s just my opinion.

Sequels had soo much potential they could easily be 2nd place for me too, but personaly a few things I really don't like or agree with really seals the deal for me with them, alltho the overall acting and quality and directing is better than prequels imo.

    Rey represents a blank slate.
She's a mysterious character with incredible force powers and we know next to nothing about her.
We didn't get any answers in TLJ about her origins but that is not to say we never will.
People need to be patient, Rome wasn't build in one day.

This movie was actually rather unpredictable in it's outcomings and therefore quite refreshing.
Rey's connection with Ben is actually the biggest question here.
What are they from each other?
    Brother and sister?....cousins?......

    The answer is neither.
They are two halves of a whole... representing light and dark, Yin and Yang, positive and negative.
What that actually means in the future?....We can only guess.
