SPECULATION Romance - who falls for who in VIII?

The last person I know fell in love with himself was Narcissos, and he died of the misery of not being able to touch his reflection. I doubt Kylo would wither away for the same reason. Besides, Rey already handled that his face will be all but perfect in the future movies.

for what it is worth, I think Poe and Finn are the best couple of the given choises.

 

I think Finn and Rey are the most likely but it wont be a typical romance . If VIII has a pace anything like TFA then we wont have much time to catch our breathe for those slow drawn out romantic kind of scenes. Also Boyega stating that VIII is even darker than TFA makes me think Finn and Rey's relationship might be more about them being drawn together because of shared suffering rather than a typical romance. They might almost need each other in order to get through what transpires.

 

Based solely on what I know from VII, Maz and Chewie. I really want to see what their kids would look like. I know Miss Piggy and Kermit made Yoda so maybe Maz and Chewie would make Gonzo? Fozzy?

 

I think that they are trying to mirror Rey with Luke in the OT, so she won't have a romantic interest in Episode VIII or IX, also I think that Finn is safely in the friend zone at this point. But probably the new female lead will be highly sought over by Finn (he's kind of a big deal in the resistance).

the aspect of a FINN and REY has me really excited.
It has potential to be the Luke and Mara of the ST IMHO!

 

Rey and Kylo. Hear me out. Perhaps they are family, perhaps they're not. But I'm kind of hoping they're not, because several people have agreed with me there was this fascinating, dark chemistry between them, in both the cell and the saber fight. I just think two main characters who are lovers on opposite ends of the Force is a cool idea for this new trilogy. And while them being siblings/cousins is a perfectly fine way to go, I think this strange romance is a much more interesting path for Rian Johnson's supposedly 'weird' VIII. Although family drama was employed to great effect in TFA, too much of it could cause the story to become predictable.

Although I agree Rey and Finn could be interesting too. Perhaps a new love triangle?

I'm thinking Finn and Rey. Also there's also some new characters coming in Ep. 8.

 

Triangle Kylo, Rey, Finn. Maybe Finn will go dark if Rey is not interested. But Kylo has an interest in Rey, he's fascinated by the girl.

 

What if Maz and Chewie have a kid...?

 

Definitely like the idea of Maz and Chewie, it would help differentiate her from Yoda. Maz could be Chewie's emotional support after Han's death; maybe they could adopt.

 

From the novel - Running to Finn, she threw herself into his arms. Neither could hug the other hard enough or long enough. The embracing pair finally separated, if only to look into each other’s eyes. - (the rest of that encounter is even mushier)
The novel really plays up the attraction between Rey and Finn so it is will either work out or end tragically

 

Po falls in love with Finn, Finn falls in love with Rey, and Rey falls in love with Po.

finn and rey.. no questions asked. if that doesn't work, then throw us a gay couple with finn and poe.

 

If she would have friend zoned him, she wouldn't have kissed him. She would have just said goodbye and left.

There are not many films that have a romantic relationship between a black and white person. I would respect Disney if they put Finn and Rey together just because it's uncommon.

 

I believe that Rey and Poe will be the match, because on VII they never actually intearcted with themselves, that leaves ALOT of room fo that character interaction development in VIII which is what i believe will happenn.

Its like for Rey, Poe was just another pilot of the resistance but maybe on VIII she realizes he is this badass pilot the best in the galaxy and falls for him in the most cheesy way (its starwars after all), unlocking a new part of the character of rey that we havent seen, and allowing Poe to be that Han Solo kind of Scoundrel with big Ego, a part of his character that i really like.

Finn is just i dunno..

Finn and Rey maybe. But I don't expect it to entirely play out in Ep. VIII. It seemed like the end of TFA was a set up for us not to see Rey and Finn in the same place for awhile.
