Non of us knows what messages people wrote to Kelly. If they wEre angry at her directly, or at the character (your character sucks). We know Kelly is extremely sensitive and in combination with the fact she's new to the showbusiness, she could have overreacted where more experienced actors doesn't care. To me personally is hard to believe there are idiots who write angry letters to actors just because they didn't like the character. We really don't know what happened. So far I see the biggest noise are making the fans, like us, assuring the world that we would never ever do such ugly thing. But that's understood. We said that many times (without knowing what really happend) and now when we all know we are the good fanboys we should continue with our topic..

It's funny. When TLJ first came outI was a bit uneasy. My wife liked it, so we went to see it several more times. I even defended it, figuring my uneasy feelings were just wrong. I focuses on the good and ignored the bad. I even tried to justify the film and the director. I mean, I loved his work on Breaking Bad. I also felt like these movies NEED to succeed. I remember the dark times after ROTJ when there was nothing new being made as far as Star Wars was concerned.

But a few weeks ago I was talking with fellow fans who are also friends and was shocked at how much they hated it. They range from late 40s to early 20s. I decided to come to the discussion with an open mind. I went home and rewatched the film (I bought the iTunes version and watched it once). I was shocked at how much I also found wrong with the film.

Rose is poorly written. Finn is a mess. The whole Canto Bight thing is flippin attrocious. I mean, what's the point of that entire thing? They were looking for a specific person, get arrested for a parking violation, and forget about him and instead take on someone they met IN JAIL????

Holds is another poorly written character. She's quite dislikeable and handles the situation poorly (if she really was close to Leia she'd know that Poe is close to Leia as well, so why not just pull him aside and explain the "plan"???).

    Then there is Rey...

Anyway, after 183 pages I don't think anyone wants me to rehash the issues. But they are real. RJ admitted he threw away the rough plan designed by JJ and just did what he wanted. How did this happen? He should have been fired by KK for that. Reboot the reboot???? Did KK authorize this??? If so, she ought to be fired for stupidity. RJ should never come near SW again. Period.

One of the main things you DON'T do is bad mouth your employer or your customers. Period. The customers are always right. I teach and I don't bad mouth parents. Not to their faces and not to other parents or other teachers. I might to my wife, when I need to blow off steam, but that's it. I don't bad mouth students. Not to other teachers and not to other students. YOU DON'T DO IT. This also hold true for Chuck Wendig. They both, along with KK need to be shown the door.

Personally, bring over Kevin Feige from MCU to replace KK. Or make Dave Filoni head of creativity. Have JJ do the best he can with IX. Hell, have it all be a dream for all I care. But then LFL needs to get its' collective head out of it's anal rectum and 1. Stop doing prequels and 2. Make great films!!!

    Sorry for the rant.

I've been rewatching The Clone Wars animated series, and as most here would agree, it's very well produced. It keeps to the heart of George's vision, it stays internally consistent, and it still has complex ideas explored for the kids to sharpen their teeth on.

Looking it up,the producer was Catherine Winder. Watching this interview, she obviously is a SW fan, and also made sure to keep the spirit of SW in every episode.

Man, I'd love for her to just be the next producer if Kathleen is on the way out. She seems like she knows how to collect quality writers and a team that can make true SW, while still being new episodes in the IP. Everything you'd want from the head honcho.

What if the "customer" is wrong in the case of Kelly Marie Tran? An employee should also defend other employees.

That's not the customer is wrong, that's the customer is being abusive and should be escorted off the premises/franchise.

Oh...my....god. I thought they might be lower...but that is just disastrous for Lucasfilm. No wonder there's rumours of Kennedy stepping down. You can now officially see where SW sales took a nose-dive. Cinema openings would be carried by TFA, but the post-box office market shows off how well TLJ really did. Quite a few people must have really disliked it.

Naw it's probably Blu Ray fatigue LOL... yeah that's it. Or fans just didn't really want a Blu Ray for this movie. Or no, wait - maybe the TLJ Blu-Ray was hampered by bad PR with the production problems in SOLO.

    Also Rogue One Blu-Ray Sales 65 000 000.

But move along, nothing to see here

Because disc sales amount to around 10% of revenue made by a film of this scale. Sure, 10% more is nice and all, but it's at the cinema where the big buck is being made. Home media releases have never been that important when it comes to making money. There's areason why no one discussed physical media sales after TFA's and RO's release - no one actually cares about them.

Sure? When taking into account that disc sale is an everongoing cash flow? Not to mention toys/related products? If the interest for discs are so low, toys etc. must be plummering too.

Suddenly numbers don't have any meaning at all while there's a whole thread telling that it was a fantastic hit at the Box Office and that means that everybody liked it.

Yep, you'll find that numbers and such mean nothing to some and everyone really loved the movie and the only people who disliked it are the tiniest little sliver of the audience. And things like massive weekly drops at the box office were "expected and Disney is fine with it" and low audience scores on multiple sites are Russian bots. Don't waste effort with this mindset because you'll drive yourself crazy. I'm also willing to bet that if some of these rumors floating around that there have been firings at Lucasfilm turn out to be true, then that will mean nothing as well. Everything is fine, everyone loved TLJ, nothing to see here, etc.

I'm sure people are probably just building up their blue-ray budgets so they can buy dozens of copies of Solo when it's out.
