Point(s) taken, and agreed. My only point really was that even in your statements here, you had to put the terms 'care' and 'peace' in quotes, because you know those terms are defined differently by different people. That variable definition is what allows this to not be as black and white as you originally stated.

The prequels unfortunately allowed the "good guys" to look bad, in that the Old Republic was wildly corrupt and being abused by groups with evil intent already (the banking clan, etc), and the Jedi were far from the pinnacle of goodness they thought they were.

Similarly, in the sequel trilogy it is suggested that the New Republic didn't fare much better in some respects. To some, they saw the lack of full dominating control allowed for the criminal element to thrive, which was seen as a lack of peace to some.

As you say absolute peace is an impossibility.
